When did Matt get the last information about the album or did he only get it a few months ago?
They can have changed the name for the album in that time

Exactly. Things can change. But I think what we saw in those studio clips is a near final product.

the notification rang but I didn't want to open it, maybe it was something about the single

Hola @ Matt.  ¿Qué tan seguro está de que la carátula del álbum filtrada y el título de "magnum opus" no son legítimos?

don't tell us, don't delude yourself you can so much deny to mislead, it's better to be skeptical and see the leaks that come out

i think matt told us that Magnum Opus of The Inglorious Kind  is  not the album name

and i dont know about the "leaked" album cover, yes you can see it in those clips, but what if they just want to troll us? or maybe its just a placeholder/not the final album cover?

I hope that’s not the name of the album, sounds very pretentious.

I do not think they’re trolling us at all. Much too much detail and effort.

I'm growing impatient for an announcement. Not just because I want to hear some new music but also because I want to hear the band talking about their new music! Like in interviews and stuff. I'm getting bored of this whole secretive thing and just want an announcement to come so they can stop pretending they're NOT doing anything

Also greenday.com is working for me, I just can't go on any pages other than the home page with the GFB stuff

it's available, it's just the certificate isn't valid (probably due to the CMS migration, they haven't changed the certificate yet) so your browser is blocking access to it. if you go to advanced, you should be able to click "visit greenday.com anyway" and go ahead. there's nothing new on the site anyway visually, just the back end has been changed, there's no hints in the code and all the obvious URL's to pages have been disabled/don't exist yet.

I don’t find it pretentious because it’s obviously got a layer of sarcasm to it too. That cover is both grandiose and humorous all at the same time. Seeing the possible album artwork and that clip from the studio with the opera singers has me sort of convinced they’re going for a big, grandiose rock opera again. The artwork makes even more sense in the context of the studio clips we’ve heard.

I wonder why some people have issues with greenday.com and others don't. I've just been typing it in like this greenday.com and its loaded fine every time.

Just on the website updating thing, that normally happens when news is just days away right? Otherwise what would the point be in updating it and leaving it a while before it all goes live

I think we should stop talking about the cover leak. Matt clearly stated that it was fake.

No he said he thought it was fake but then changed his mind and thinks it might be legit

Again, I need some evidence that he actually said that. But even still, Matt has been surprised before. I don’t think Green Day management reveals every move to him.

matt is serving as much as absent-minded and generate hype, must know things but wants us to live the process as a fan

I think Matt doubted it, then started thinking it could be legit, and his most recent opinion on it reverted back to doubting it. He gave reasons each time so its not like he was randomly changing his mind.

after he spotted the "cover" on the table in the recording studio, how did he revert back to doubting?  I dont mean that this clue necessitates  the former coclusion and there is no longer ground for doubting, i just didnt keep up with the conversation. I personally think that neither the cover itself nor the the recordings alone are stong clues but together they form a riddle.

Yeah I've been thinking it could be another rock opera. The music in the leaks sounds like a follow up to 21CB which is great because followed by trilogy and revrad this record felt like a dead end road while it could have been a beginning of something great. However, I'd prefer if they didn't go full opera with characters. Not that it's a big deal, because the narrative can easily be ignored and in case of 21CB it even isn't really there minus the few mentions of characters, but I just think it's better when the music speaks for itself without the band doing interviews explaining the story. I'm thinking they might be going for the grandiose music without a story so it's a little different from the previous albums.

On another note, imo Father of All is a lot better title than Father of All Motherfuckers. FOA leaves a lot more to the imagination, so it's more interesting. It has a religious undertone but also makes you think of other ways to interpret it. Add motherfucker and maybe it's not as bad as I originally thought, but it just sounds like he was trying to be edgy so instead of high expectations it's more like this could be the cringiest shit ever.

If it was something choral, it would be the first time they've done this on a record. Maybe it's a conceptual album like a rock opera with an air of bohemian rhapsody.

I think it was around page 297, but I'm not sure.
