Nothing wrong with questioning the employees at Madonna Inn though, right?? Hint

Honestly, I would say that's a little weird :P

What I meant by looking around was to check out if there are still vans on the parking lot if it's easily accessible/visible from the road, to see if they're done or not and then creep away as unsuspeciously as possible haha

I just remember around the RevRad time when people stalked OTIS and the mods/admin here told to inform us to please not stalk the band. Haha. That's also when they started making me pull posts off of here that gave insight into some of the locations.

Kind of hard to keep that place secret when it’s on a busy commercial street surrounded by businesses including Billie’s own. Until recently they even had a sign on the door but it’s still spray painted on the wall in the parking lot. I can see if it was in a secluded location not to go looking for it but if you’re visiting Oakland on a Green Day tour you almost can’t avoid it.

I don't think people walking by being like "yeah here's the studio" are an issue, but they didn't want people coming over to interrogate the band when they wanted to be left alone and record in peace.

Right...especially because they were being super hush hush about certain things at the time. My buddy who was interning with their sound engineer literally had a member of the band's team scrolling through this site with him and telling me what posts I needed to have deleted. Seems like they are being even more quiet about this one.

Yeah true haha now you reminded me of the guy who went through Oakland on Google maps and located Otis thanks to an old car parking there. Weirdly impressive but I agree that when something is meant to be kept secret then don't spoil it.

where is it on maps? i wanna take a photo in front of otis^^

I don't know. Suppose it's the same street as Broken Guitars and that one record store Green Day have a strangely good relationship with (wonder who owns it haha).

How long does it usually take to make a music video?

the longshot one was shot and edited in a week. but that's a low budget. Large budget would take a few weeks to a month or longer.

So maybe late Sept single then.

Possibly or could be sooner. The timeline really depends on the complexity of the concept that was agreed upon and how fast the editor(s) and director is with creating the first look and subsequent changes.

a music video no matter the budget does not take more than a few days to edit lol. the release however could still be in a month. i miss sam bayer, he perfected the green day aesthetic, not great at directing actual movies but he’s fuckin bad ass

Very few of my predictions on this forum have been correct, but I'm going with an announcement on the 9th and a single with the video on the 19th. That would give them 3 weeks to get the video ready and they can drop more clues next week :sherlock:

My prediction now based on what we know: secret show at Whiskey A GoGo on Tuesday Sept 10 followed by single and video release Friday September 13.

My optimistic prediction is single drop on Sept. 6 w/ show(s?) announcements and maybe an album announcement. But the release is so far out they may announce the album officially with the second single.

Considering I will be in LA on Sept 10, I vote yes on this one.

i’m so excited for this single, im high so i could just be speaking nonsense. but in that one make up girls story i heard some beautiful violin, the makeup is aesthetically pleasing and not cringey, the dog fitted up in the cuffed overalls and the rapper diamond rope chain was actually hilarious looking. (all of that could be irrelevant) i think this could be a political song but more so criticizing pop culture.

although i don’t 100% agree with billies political beliefs, i love his view on society and the way he can interpret it into his music. that’s why i hope this next album is political but not in the straight up fuck trump way.

i know a lot of you on here really hope for that, but that would be a huge mistake for them and i don’t think billie would ever stoop down to that level and be so blatant. what can he possibly say that hasn’t been said? just look at sum 41.. what you say has to mean something, you can’t mimic what has been done and said for the last 3 years.

during american idiot they took the path less followed and went against what was mainstream. a time where bush was pretty popular amongst both parties of america post 9/11 (92% approval, just the stats not me making it up). it made many of those think invading a country that had nothing to do with the attacks was righteous. and if you pay attention to politics you know all main stream news outlets are pro war whether it’s fox, cnn msnbc, etc. billie started a conversation without being too blatant. so what billie did was very very revolutionary, and an important piece of american history.

billie is smart, i do not see him selling his soul into the fuck trump narrative, he can be subtle sure and that’s fine. billie has said green day is a band for working class people and his lyrics are up for interpretation when it comes to politics. love the guy with all of my heart.

so excited for this album.

that is all,

and im not high anymore after that novel. also sorry for the fake title tracks, i was just bored one night. 😔
