It's an hour and 45 minutes! Who's blocking out that kind of time for an interview? I do want to watch it, but the darn thing needs an intermission.

I just wanted to watch the interview for that one minute they mention Green Day in the interview...just one minute..are you fucking kidding me...

I did! I was surprised to hear that they kind of confirmed that Butch had produced a Green Day album. But the interview was very interesting to me because I am always interested in some music production insight and it was cool to hear his background story.

I feel that Green Day is in good hands with this guy.

Which is totally understandable from the GD fan's perspective. A lot of people will watch it though, because they're interested in the production side of things and how Butch works. I just think I would need a nap before the end of it lol

What’s funny is that they still think they can keep this secret. So much has been leaked at this point about the album, Butch Walker, this videoshoot, etc. why even bother to delete stuff now?  Green Day even posted pictures from his studio. This is now the worst kept secret ever. Give it up guys 😄

As for the makeup artist/ video extras, she (and the other models) remind me less of the Oh Love video and more of the punk paraders in Minority.

I got the same feeling after watching about an hour of the interview. Really good stuff.

There is still plenty that isn't known.

I could be wrong here, but he's a smart guy, I'm sure he realizes the points you made. I feel like he just cut it out because he didnt want this particular interview to be focused on Green Day; but wanted to keep the focus on the inside perspective of him being a producer. 🤷‍♂️

Well of course but to delete a single line from a video about him working with Green Day? Something that by itself is no longer secret? The interview was done it wasn’t like the interviewer was gonna go on about it and say too much.

a funny thing on that videos is that Butch talks about every guitar on that studio and seems to ignore when the interviewer point out to the one Billie appears wearing on the photo

To be fair, it's probably only really known to us loonies here and a few fan sites, if they aren't the same thing 😂 maybe to the wider music world, this announcement will be real news to them and they may be very surprised, or not.

It's not like it's a big surprise that Butch Walker is working with them. He's not a big name.

Where in the video does he say that? I saw the part with that guitar but I didn’t hear him say anything about Billie, unless that part got cut too 😆😆😆😆😆😆

He didn't say nothing, but the interviewer point out to the guitar that is hanging on the wall and Butch seems to not want to talk about that one, Butch just says that is a heavy one and goed to the next subject.

Even though we don’t know what the album sounds like yet, what I like about the whole Madonna Inn vibe and the bits we know so far (new producer for example) is it feels very much like Green Day moving forward, where with RevRad it was a lot of nostalgia and looking back. Songs like Outlaws about growing up, songs about rehab, videos shot in Gilman Street with classic footage and set in house parties, etc. It all felt like a retrospective, like they were looking back on a great career and some great memories and were ready to retire.  I think they’ve gotten that out of their system and this album is going to have a look, sound and feel that is entirely new and they need that to stay current and relevant.

Exactly and like they were not only being retrospective, but also are very grateful for the career they've had.  Looking back on how grateful they all seemed during RevRad and the fact that Billie was writing through the whole tour, I am excited for this album to have a fresh, lively vibe to it.

Exactly. I like RevRad and it's a record that made sense at that time and I don't mind it's full of nostalgia and looking back and I like how it's reflexive, but all that came with it being unsurprising musically which is a pity because I feel like they could do more. Hopefully that's what this album is. A beginning of something new, as it were. Another album like RevRad would seem stuck in a rut. They pulled the same thing off with Idiot without looking like they were trying too hard or jumping on shitty trends, so I think there's a chance this will be really cool. However, imo Walker's work with other bands is basically the same poppy formula over and over and it's sterile and manufactured, so hopefully that's not the route they're going.

With the Turn It Around documentary too that whole era was a demarcation point.  That makes this time so exciting because we have practically no reference points for what they might draw on as inspiration.

Here or a Twitter account affiliated with the band would be my guess.

What about a political song that talks about the ongoing “battle” between liberals and conservatives?

I think Billie was the first one to break the news about Bang Bang on IG

Any verified Green Day social media account (Billie Joe, Mike, Tre, and the band account).
