We'll know something is coming when a random user who made their account 10+ years ago starts posting for the first time dropping vague as fuck hints.

I mean - something may be coming. Don't trust Kerrang - you'll see soon enough kids. Bye for now.

Maybe they don't care about the Grammys because the Grammys suck

Also, I'm sorry to say this. But no source, however reliable, is as clear and straight-forward as photographic evidence of the band recording (which we don't have, the Butch Walker thing can be disputed) and/or official announcements by the band. We currently have neither and on top of that, we did have the former back in 2012 and 2016.

The only confirmation we have that they are working new stuff is Billie's comment on his insta live back in Dec (?) that he was writing stuff for Green Day.

Imagine having an account for 6 years without any activity, just to then have the perfect opportunity to.... troll... yeah, that's one heck of a life goal to have haha

So if this thread is chapter 2, which chapter do you think we'll be at when there's finally an announcement?

Not surprised at all lol This is working into Green Day's masterplan quite well... build up that demand and hold back on the supply

You guys wouldn't recognize a real insider even if he came here just to reassure you that Kerrang is a shitty mag smh smh

There really is no standard timeline. I see a lot of people asking "how long would recording take?", "how long would mixing/mastering take?" etc

Every song and every album is different especially when you're a band like Green Day that has historically made huge records and have been successful. If Billie wants he could spend the entire day recording guitars, trying different parts, continue tracking till he gets it right or to the level that he expects it to sound in his head. This is something that he does as well and when he's in the studio with other acts this is something he shares with artists. I believe it was Max from SWMRS who mentioned that in an interview.

Even with mixing and mastering which typically don't take too long when you have high level pros, if the band is picky they may want something redone or may want two different versions of it to compare and contrast etc

It would also depend on their focus on the entire process as well and if they want to be involved at all levels. I heard stories where Billie wasn't even around to review the mastering for the trilogy (not sure if that's valid or not)

Thank you. That’s really helpful.

You think they give a damm about a Grammy? Half of their critics can't even stomach them, let alone stand them. I mean if they won it would be weird - they would have been lied to just to get there just so they could sit next to Britney Spears!

Yeah, I mean, however likely/unlikely I think a new album is, it's still Kerrang's word I have to accept. Not easy that one haha

I can’t promise anything, but a reliable source tells me that 2020 is the year. Sorry guys, but I don’t think they’re lying.

before you accuse me of trolling, my mom works in national television and has some contacts.

Yeah, I get that. However, it's not completely unreasonable to doubt Kerrang too. Can't say anything for sure, this insider business is extremely unstable lol

And my dad met the president, unfortunately he didn't know anything about the new album.

Now, Sophie K liked my tweet, but no response so far. Seriously, I'm gonna book a doctor's appointment ahead of schedule, before I loose my mind. Might as well do it on Friday, then he can also check my liver's alright after our little shot-session

EDIT: Ok, fair enough. Ladies and gentlemen, the Julia/Sharon "mystery" has been solved:

Too many insiders with different stories. Maybe Kerrang is doing damage control, or maybe that lady really did just trust some random fan. But Laughing Clock seems to think something is coming. This is a rollercoaster.

Can't be sure until @The Insider sheds some light on it

but is there really no music coming anytime soon? Were we all just on a wild goose hunt this entire time? I mean thinking about it we don't have any solid proof at all
