Yeah I’m not surprised, just wondered if he was renting out because he’s planning to be away for a while. But fair enough!

There was an earlier post indicating a move to LA so I’d say he’s moving West for a while and it’s work related. Green Day seems to be the next big thing on his to do list and it will be a semi-long term commitment but with an album and tour we could assume that. He’s out there now and with the August 10 sublet date I’d say anything could happen at any time (which we are also already assuming but nice to see)

Okay, I challenge you: could someone please try to relate the fact that I must drink two liters of water today to the fact that we are waiting for a new Green Day record?
I want to prove your fantasy.

I know you all want to downplay everything because we’ve had a lot of disappointment, but the Scott Nagelberg stuff is valid. He’s their manager, he’s subletting his apartment starting around the time we anticipate things might start to happen with GD promotion, and there was recently a going away thing for him with a cake that said “Good luck in LA”. It’s not fantasy, it’s logic.

That and plus he was there with them in the final weeks of the Rev Rad tour and after that his main focus was his other client Panic/BU and his instagram is loaded with pics and posts during that album/tour cycle. If he devotes as much time and energy to GD now as he did with them, I’m expecting a lot of quality content very soon.

I hate not having a timeline. I swear my anxiety is up because I'm waking up hoping every day could be the day. And when I see a @Matt. post...well forget about it.

Yeah we were pretty much spoiled with a new studio teaser every day during the Trilogy era, and even during the RevRad era with some studio photos and cryptic hashtags.

And there you go.

Good thing you caught that because I think he deleted it. Probably didn’t realize Billie was visible 😂

At least he's not drinking because I know a lot of people on GDC that can be offended by that.

Not offended, just concerned but that doesn’t need to be discussed here.

So if Green Day's management has changed, does that mean that whoever arranges their touring has changed as well? If so, do we believe there might be anything different done in that area? Refering particularly to their support acts (maybe Crush will push for more well known, relevent artists?) and touring outside the US because their touring in the US will always be frequent when they're on an album cycle with a high number of shows.

I personally would hope for more shows in these places outside the US, which might seem like an obvious thing to say, but I'm more refering to the length of a run of shows in a particular country rather than going there multiple times. For example in the UK in 2017, GD did three headline shows, then two more shows in the summer one of which was Hyde Park, whereas in 2017 blink did a tour here which had like 12+ dates over two or three weeks.

Yes I know we are lucky here that we see them so often so don't accuse me of moaning, I'm just curious if we will see a difference in the touring strategy for the forthcoming album cycle.

In 2018 they were suppose to do a Canadian Tour. It was cancelled for I don't know which reason.
I hope so much that in 2020 they'll do it for real.

This is purely a guess, but I would think the band has the final say on touring. But I also think Crush is going to try to have some input with the bottom line being better ticket sales and exposure.

I think this a lot with artists these days. I really doubt they have the final decision on the touring, even though their show is so unique and brilliant. I hear so often in interviews that bands don't even know where they'll be in the next week or month, or what festival they'll be playing in a particular country.. I don't think they'll have much input at all

I thought I recalled something about the Trilogy promotion/2012 tour being so overscheduled and inhumane that they fired their booking agents after that, not their manager but the agents that schedule the tours. So it’s possible who they’re using now is the same one they used since RevRad but I’m sure management has some input and can request things, it’s his job to look out for the band’s welfare as well as maximizing promotion. It’s a balance, but I don’t know exactly how it works.
