It the Zane Lowe thing is at 6pm UK time. I reckon the single will be out at 5. Its usually 5 o'clock over here when singles are released.

so anxious, seriously cannot wait! I think we were never really been left  this much in the dark with no indication of what's going to happen with the new album.

If it comes out an hour before the radio interview, will it premier on another radio station? I remember Bang Bang's premier being advertised prior with radio names.. Seems strange to skip that premier hype?

I loved RevRad but the mixing was terrible and it was causing pain in the ears while listening.

The guitars in Too Dumb To Die are painful

I'm listening to RevRad right now

Troubled Times, Outlaws, Bouncing Off the Wall, Too Dumb To Die, Forever Now are great! And so many great memories from 2016/17.

I just can't wait. The whole evening I'm gonna be here at GDC, reading every post and sharing the beautiful time with all of you passionate about Green Day

Yeah, Bang Bang came out at 5pm on the dot. Radio stations, Spotify, YouTube, it was everywhere.

I imagine the song will premier on Beats 1, they'll have the guys on at 6 and that'll give them more excuse to play it again, along with the FOB and Weezer tracks

Even if the new album is a rock opera, it doesn't necessarily mean that the first single is gonna be an epic, long, theatric song. American Idiot and Know Your Enemy were also just 3 min long bangers.

i don’t know why the girl is there and i don’t want to. but take her out and the fact that they’re on vogue means this is going to be big, and their aesthetic is the best since AI

I could be wrong but i'm fairly sure that's an old photoshoot published in Vogue June 2010, can't find it online exactly, but i found the cover with Blake Lively and Green Day listed as what's inside..

I'm gonna miss all of this because of working from 1 in the afternoon until 10 and the company I work for won't let us have a public broadcast license. Hooray for working in retail. I'll just have to check here every so often and just go off reactions before listening after work.

If it were me I wouldn't want to see any reactions. Going into a new GD song with no prior knowledge is one of the greatest feelings. Imagine if everyone is saying it sucks? It'll kill your buzz

But if the guitar tone will be shallow and his voice high-pitched, I'll be concerned about the rest.

But the mixing of the entire album may no be consistant, like mixing of RevRad

thanks! I'll just wait for that then!

If that is when the song comes out it'll be on Spotify straight away anyway, so as long as I hear the new song ASAP, the interview will be there for after :)

what you chatting Leeds Rossi Law... Bang Bang was on spotify and then kerrang played it at like 1pm... I remember this cause Jimmy Stix told me off for texting him that the drum solo was mint.... ;)

"A happy lark will be singing at the end of the road"

I'm trying to keep an open mind - I'll close my eyes and listen to the single (when it eventually drops) like everyone else. Fingers crossed!

I know a lot of people have had their doubts about this upcoming album because of things like Butch Walker, the Madonna Inn, and now the Hella Mega tour.. I've had a feeling since RevRad that it will be absolutely amazing. RevRad was Green Day doing what they do best, all in all a pretty solid album but too safe. Completely understandable and honestly the best route to take after the Trilogy though. But now it's time for experimentation again, I want and expect GD to go crazy in the best of ways with their upcoming album.

Since I've had such high expectations for so long I wonder how I'll react if they don't live up to them lol. Still convinced they will, and if not well even 'not-so-good-green-day' is still Green Day and I'll probably be thrilled. We're so close now, I look forward to my own and everyone elses reaction to what we hear. Hopefully I was right all along and everyone who is worried will be pleasantly surprised!

What I really want is either a 7 minute anthemic score that would make a great set closer before the JoS and Good Riddance encore, or a poppy mid/high tempo 4 minute song with bass, drums and keyboards but temporary absence of guitar, like Muse. In short, I want classic Green Day or a new direction.
