Can you guys help me? I'm gonna keep looking, but if you can find an Amazon or Ebay post that would be great!

It should be yes, although there's a possibility that sometimes the seller has categorized his lp/cd/whatever as the wrong version, as an example the reissue w/o Ernie on it. But you can always ask the seller about an item before buying.

I recently had a friend who was cleaning out their old CD collection, knew I liked Green Day and gave it to me. It was an Ernie. Sometimes you just get lucky like that.

from Wikipedia:

"The back cover on early prints of the CD featured a plush toy of Ernie from Sesame Street, which was airbrushed out of later prints for fear of litigation; however, Canadian and European prints still feature Ernie on the back cover. Some rumors suggest that it was removed because it led parents to think that Dookie was a child's lullaby album or that the creators of Sesame Street had sued Green Day."

Any made in Europe have Ernie, it's only ones made in US that stopped having it. Here in the UK I've never seen one without it.

So I imagine it can't be that hard to find. I think even if you buy one from Europe there's still the possibility that it wouldn't have Ernie (if it happened to be one that was shipped over from the US for whatever reason), but there must be ways to find out when you're buying it. Like if it was on Ebay you could ask the seller

I've been lucky enough to find CD copies of Dookie with Ernie on the back at thrift stores. As for Discogs, they're a pretty reputable source for buying. You can always message the seller and ask if they copy of the album they have is the one with Ernie on the back.

If you have record stores nearby you may get lucky there. If all else fails, you can also check eBay.

Try the goodwill store or other thrift stores. I found my ernie copy there and got it for a dollar.

I've never seen a copy without Ernie on it. I've owned a few copies of the album and all of them had Ernie on the back. What's up with that? I've got 3 from Wal-Mart and 1 from a pawn shop.

I remember seeing a Green Day signed copy LP that didn’t have Ernie on the  back and one of them had drawn  stick figure in Ernie’s  place .

I usually see them at the thrift store. That's where I got my copy.

Independent record stores will have it they typically make more money off the resale of used than they do on new copies.

There are always at least two copies like that at my local record shop.

The ones in Canada have all Ernie on it. It isn't worth a million, 5$ maximum maybe. The ones that are worthy are US first ever print only.

So the rare ones are the original prints from 94, US only? And why do the Canadian ones still have Ernie on them?

I have no idea why. Ernie is on the album cover for many countries. Only the US had an issue with Ernie to the point it was taken out. Maybe Sesame Street wasn't as known elsewhere?
