Longshot album Love is for Losers

Green Day "far left"? Please, probably they are somewhat lefties, but nothing else. For any outsider from the US, there is no really left there. Only one right and other a bit less right.

For Longshot stuff, I really think that I need a vynil release of this. I need more dynamics on this songs.

Does anyone know if the extra 11 (EP) tracks released after the album, are also all BJ's own work with regards to playing of instruments etc?

Yes he said he made them in his garage.

I hope you take this as a compliment (I certainly would), but this sounds kinda like if Tom Delonge did an acoustic cover of that song. And I honestly mean that in a good way lol (knowing all the hostility that exists between the fans of both bands). Really cool dude!

Haha! I hear that a lot. I don't mind it :)

Well, I for one really like Tom's early (non drunk) vocals lol. But I'm careful saying this to any Green Day fan, as they could be offended haha. I just wish Green Day fans and Blink 182 fans would get along...

Btw, been listening to more of your covers:

1. They're all really good!

2. Depending on which video you do actually sound more like Billie haha. I just thought for this particular cover it sounded kinda like Tom...

Are Green Day fans and Blink fans that nasty to each other? I would think that those people would be a minority. Most people would just accept that certain people like different music.

Like seriously, who gives a fuck which band you like or prefer, people like that just suck.

True, I'm probably referring to a very vocal minority...

Blink-182 mentioned in The Longshot discussion?  Nice!  I discovered them about the same time as Green Day, and they #7 in my list of favorite musicians, not far behind Green Day sitting at the throne of #1.

Despite them both being "pop punk bands", there is a huge difference in lyrical content and all aspects of the music.

I don't really hear any similarity at all in the vocals, but then again I haven't thought about it.

Things are slowing down on here in my opinion.  I feel a lull coming on.

Been trying to find songs I haven't heard by bands I like.   Right now I'm sinking my teeth into The New America by Bad Religion.

I want the next album to be entirely about Trump just to see you all whine about it tbh

...with EVERY 'vocal filter' possible.  double tracked. compressed. processed. synthesized. all that shit.

The Revolutionary War era was far from a "primitive time." It was barely over 200 years ago. And the results of that war dynamically altered human history and politics, so I'd say it was kind of a big deal.

I never said that statement was anti-gun. Rather, it asks people to look a little deeper into the issue instead of going with a black and white option ("guns are bad" or "guns are good").

If GD's next album was truly from a "far left" perspective, I might not enjoy it because A) the anti-Trump stuff has been done to death by every form of media and B) I'm not a fan of extremists who think in black-and-white about how the world should work.

I am pretty much done around here but I read this and you just didn't understand AT ALL what I meant about the Revolutionary War being primitive.  All war is primitive and taking 1-3 minutes to load a single shell is pretty primitive compared to today, obviously by say, Medieval times.  My point was, where are we that is better. I subscribe to a oneness "John Lennon" type of peace and believe that there will never be human enlighenent until we all realize that we are one.  I apologize if I wasn't clear, it wasn't a stab at you saying you were wrong, it was just a comment on the shoulders of yours.

As for right and left, it's just a game so political hacks can have a name to call their team.  Once the game stops (it won't in any of our life times, or before humans go extinct) is when the fighting will end and not a minute sooner.  This conversation is a microcosm of the whole problem.   I am not an idiot, I am aware of the historical significance of the Revolutionary War but my point was is America so much better than Britain now because at the time, the founding father's briefly escaped a tyrannical monarchy?  Look where we are now?  I'll take Britain's government over my own in a heartbeat, not that it's so great. Also right and left is just perspective.  Far left in America is center in Britain.  Even here, Reagan would be a Democrat by today's standards.  Or to take it a step farther, Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.  Today he would be a democrat. Its a game.  Don't play it.   Use your mind, be a good person, help people out, love people you don't know,  understand we are one organism and war is a cancer.

And anyway, by the standards that are existing today, Billie is not even a little right.  He is far left.  If you go down the checklist of what someone believes that is considered left, he is it. He has called himself a fucking socialist on several occasions, unabashedly and good for him too because while I spout that I don't like that there are sides, I do believe one of the sides is more in line with my beliefs of peace.

The people on the right are probably in fact more realistic as they know we need nukes, and missiles and blah to survive but at the end of the day, those are also the things that make it so we need those things.  It's very circular and very complex but the fact of the matter is I would rather die a good person than live a bad one.

Nice. Now the European tour

I hurried to renew my passport so I have valid ID just in case this happens and I need it for it, costing nearly £100. Now it would be rude of them not to :P

It's just fear really , it would just be so terrible if they came here and I couldn't go to a show without current ID. Needed to do it at some point anyway but I feel they owe me now for making me hurry :P

I sure wish there were some CDs next to the t shirts in that store. Also again like with the album artwork....not to complain too much but why use the crappiest/most boring Longshot artwork for the t shirts when they've put out massive amounts of artwork that's way cooler?

There are a ton of great ones but even something as simple as this on a white tee would have been amazing:

So do we think The Longshot is done releasing music? Does anyone think they'll release anything else? Will it be soon or years from now?

I mean, there are still unreleased songs that I'd like to hear like Dreamcatcher (I'm losing faith in that song ever being released)
