Longshot album Love is for Losers

Hope there's a CD release. Vinyl will make up for it knowing it's gonna be in 24bit, but I really wanna hear this album in studio quality. Not MP3's.

Is there anyone out there in the Oakland are that can pick me up a copy of the new album that is being released tomorrow? I will pay for for everything (album, shipping, and gas). Please help a non-Oaklander out. I’m in Ohio.

Ha- I love these tour dates. Billie is such a stud. A rock star of his stature booking shows in places like Pawtucket (the locals call it "The Bucket") when there are tons of decent venues nearby in Boston and Providence (and even Worcester and Hartford). Going over the top to play the grittiest places in the gutter they could find. So Mogadishu and Kabul were apparently already booked...what a power move. It's going to be hell getting these tickets, so that sucks, but good for him and much respect. Love it.

I think the reason why Billie can release devils kind just like that is due to his contract not being also his stuff under his own name. If this was a Green Day situation I doubt he could just do that. I mean notice how fell for you is the only song that was remixed and released but none of the other songs from the triple album were released even though the band did say they had remixed other songs from those albums. I just think there is contract issues when it comes to Green Day releasing material and when they can release it unlike Billie mike or tre doing stuff that is not under the Green Day name. Regardless this songs adds to the longshot album.

Wonder how fast these tickets will go given that this project is relatively unknown. Gonna try to snag a few.

I love the album . Surprised by how Foxboro-y it is! I didn't hear much of a specific 60's sound from the EP songs, more a slightly later general classic rock influence. But then The Last Time comes on and there's a total swinging 60's thing going on and more to come! That's my favourite song I think. So yeah it's like, straightforward classic rock and 60's influenced Green Day songs that are fun but with a serious side, more grown up FBHT. Awesome.

Now we know Devil's Kind is coming out I've made a thread for it. Let's keep this thread for discussing the album and discuss that song there:

I havent read all 18 pages of this thread so this is most likely something thats been pointed out before but

"Piss stains and cigarettes
This party's getting dull
Im looking for a drink
And a couch to call my home"

"Puke stains and cigarettes
The party is in my pocket
Im looking for a bump
And a wall to call my home"

Is literally the same verse but worded slightly different. I knew something about Chasing a Ghost sounded familiar :P

Okay yeah I love this, super catchy and consistently great all the way through. Ones that stuck out to me most were Chasing a Ghost (still love it), Cult Hero, and Turn Me Loose, but I can tell the rest will continue to grow on me.

Now I'm wondering where I'm gonna put Devil's Kind on the album when it comes out lol. Maybe as the opener? The Last Time didn't exactly scream "first song" to me

Just had my first listen. Good stuff. Can see this going into rotation just as much as my Green Day albums.

I can certainly see why this was released under a different band name, aside from the fact that Mike and Tre aren't involved. This wouldn't have been received well as a Green Day album. Not because it's a bad record, on the contrary. But because Green Day have reached a status since AI where each album has to be epic for fans to like it. The trilogy is evidence of that.

Stand outs are Turn Me Loose, Chasing a Ghost, Love is for Losers and Taxi Driver. Though that may change on repeat listens.

I'm perfectly fine with Devil's Kind being left off. I'm sure there was a good reason. I've heard the live version and I'm not much of a fan.

Turn Me Loose is so good. Also I love the Goodbye to Romance cover, I need to check out the original now because it's a great song.

Is it just me or is Billie very slightly putting on an Ozzy voice? I'm sure I can hear an influence haha

maybe not so much a 'voice', as just the inflection billie uses when he sings it. the vocal is kinda weird in the original, its a very

'un-ozzy' ozzy tune... but yeah, definitely some influence in there.

Omg I can't believe he says "I am the longest shot in town" in Cult Hero . There's so many amusing little playful lines on this album (which reminds me of the trilogy :D).

I was going to download this on ITunes today but I think I’ll hold on for a physical release of some sort.

Hopefully it makes its way to Australia somehow
