2. "Too Dumb to Die" seems to be Billie's new go to phrase.  First SD&V, then TDTD, and now Happiness.

Except that now he is "too dumb to cry", if I got it right

Maybe 'cuase when you're happy you gotta be dumb to cry... Or maybe so happy you could cry. Even if it's dumb. I do no'.

Have been in the best mood all day after downloading this at 6 am this morning and I’ve managed to listen to it once before work and once when I finished . Loving the Beatle esque vibe of The Last Time (there’s even a lennonesque ooooh in there) and the groove of Soul Surrender and the guitar riff in Cult Hero and I can’t get Goodbye for Romance out of my head- I prefer it to the original. I love every single song and this has practically made my year. I’m not even that upset Devils Kind is not on there because we have 11 great songs on an album that a few months ago no on was expecting , and any one whining and nit picking should think about how we are actually lucky Billie is not like “I’m just gonna sit with my feet up and watch tv with my dogs until I’m ready for Greenday again”and has actually gifted us this beautiful album, with live performances ( for the lucky peeps who are not like a million miles away like me) and some great Instagram posts and interaction.

Okay that was long post, gonna listen to the album again now

Whoops, that's what I get for listening without earbuds in. :)

I just got to listen the whole album for the first time, and I'm absolutely in love with every song.

Maybe not too confortable wity Body Bag weirdness yet but I'll be fine.

It 's the best Green Day-related release since forever, and I'm a big fan of the Trilogy. A small part of me wish Mike and Tre were a part of it.

Anyone have any idiot what "Cult Hero" is about? Is Billie getting into a character?

First impressions of the album are mostly positive. I'm still not sold on Body Bag, but there's a lot of fun tunes on this record.

I shouldn't have bought the EP because now I have to re-buy the same songs on iTunes.

Since Billie confirmed a vinyl release in a couple months, I bet Devil’s Kind will be included with that (as an extra incentive to get people to buy the physical).

Well played, Billie, well played.

Yup, it is confirmed that Devil's Kind will be a B-side

I think Body Bag has had a lot of influence from the vocal style/delivery of Wavves (a band which the longshot are following), I really like Body Bag and Turn Me Loose because they really stand out unlike the others which kind of merge into one sound (not a bad one).

There's a character in "American Horror Story - The Cult" (2017) series that is a heathen leader of a cult who uses clowns masks to intimidate other people.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_Horror_Story:_Cult_characters#Kai_Anderson

I remember Billie and Adrienne mentioned a couple times they are fans of the series. The first time I listened to "Cult Hero" it reminded my this character, for example:

[Chorus]
Wooh.. I am a heathen
At the dog and pony show
I'm a last of the lesser knowns
Because I wanna be a Cult Hero

(...)

I ride the darkest horses in the Rodeo
I am the unsung of the clowns

It can be a coincidence, but given the facts I believe there's a good chance of Billie using this as a reference.

The Last Time is so damn good. I think it's my favourite, although it's hard to pick one because I like them all!
Please please please let them come to Europe so I at least stand a very small chance of seeing them live.

I think it's actually "I am a hyena at the dog and pony show"

He mentioned that line on this post:

His name is Deisil and he likes Corgis.

The Last Time is my number one, it's like a breath of fresh air. Generally it is a fun album, simple modern rock and roll. I like the old school, garage sound. This is what trilogy lacks when it comes to the sounding, because the songs structure is similiar

and then again The Longshot is very greendayish :D

Oooo, really hoping there will be leftovers, although  I doubt it.
Actually-I'm decently excited for any leftovers at 1234 from RSD. Bought one a year ago, so I look forward to see the selection online.

So i was reading some articles from a few different websites about the album to see what they were saying about it, and I decided to go into the comment sections because I guess I wanted to ruin the fun for myself.

I have seen comments saying how The Longshot is pretty much Green Day under a different name, and while I can definitely understand where they are coming from, I don't understand how this is a reason to be mad. I saw one comment saying

"Another Green Day side project that sounds just like ... Green Day. Foxboro Hot Tubs, now The Longshot. An absolute joke this band was a first-ballot Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee"

I just don't understand. This project was never advertised as a complete departure from Green Day. It was never hyped up as anything more than a side project, and yet people seem to be baffled by the fact that the lead man in Green Day is in another band that, shockingly, sounds similar to Green Day

I had'nt been on this site for a bit, only saw the 'news' last night, so thought I might as well wait till this morning, to see if album showed in UK iTunes. Otherwise I would have done the same thing!  Loving the album😍 Great surprise, great start to the weekend.

Honestly, I'm annoyed by that, too. idg why they bothered releasing an EP when the album was ready. EPs are like a teaser for new bands or new sounds to test the waters, they're not supposed to be early releases of album songs that are packaged separately to make you buy them twice!

My envious ass is unable to emotionally handle not being able to go to a Green Day show close to me, so since I'm currently poor as all hell, I'm kind of hoping the tour dates don't come into the Midwest so I don't have to miss it. That's how petty I am, I don't want people around me to enjoy a show because I can't see it :ninja:
