Last month I was coming home by foot and I walked in a little street where there's a school. Slave To The Network Posted March 11, 2020 Share Posted March 11, 2020 My family has a very dear friend on that ship who has no immune system anymore because he had a heart transplant. Super scary stuff. I think the current plan is for him to take an air ambulance back to Washington to the UW med center where he gets his care so he has as little exposure as possible. So far he's doing alright and seems to have dodged a bullet. But yes, when I heard the news that the ship is being disembarked in Oakland, I did get a little excited for no other reason than that it's Oakland. It's like "Ooooh, watch out boys. COVID-19 people headed your way!" They're all (probably) very healthy and still relatively young, so there's really no danger to them.
