Popular Post Slave To The Network
10 hours ago, stories and songs said: I think we’re quite respectful. The objectification side of it always has a silly lightheartedness to it and IMO it’s mostly just us having cartoon heart eyes and absolutely adoring the hell out of these people. We keep it here bc it would be too sickly sweet to spread all over the forum. Of course! The main reason I love Billie so much is because he's just an amazing person. His unbelievable attractiveness is just a bonus. I love Mike and Tré for the same reasons. Just minus the attractiveness. Not that they're bad looking, they just don't really do it for me personally. They have all those great qualities that Billie does in terms of the people they are.
Popular Post stories and songs
@Slave To The Network I couldn’t agree more! My fangirling is first and foremost rooted in deep respect. I am not like this with other famous people, but I genuinely think the world of this band. I love them for what they stand for as people. I am in awe of their talent, work ethic, and passion for their craft. I am endeared by how grounded they are both in their friendship with each other and in how important their families and communities are to them. I have so much admiration for them as people and musicians. I wouldn’t be such a longtime fan if I didn’t. And Billie is just my favorite person, for too many reasons to name. From the way he treats everyone from the littlest fans to music journalists to how sincerely he cares about important causes, he’s just good in a way that I know has influenced me to be a better and more caring person. I find him hilarious and sweet and to be such a gifted writer. And as someone who also deals with anxiety, he just continuously blows me away with how brave he is, whether it’s talking about heated political topics or his personal struggles. No one is perfect, and he’s certainly not, and my life in this fandom has definitely not been a straight line of me always looking at him with googly eyes. But man, if there’s anyone in this world I wholeheartedly adore, it’s him. And yeah, it’s a nice bonus that he’s also like the cutest human I’ve ever seen. But I find him as attractive as I do for all the other stuff I listed, too. 4
Popular Post The Grohl
Here here! Adding to this, yes I think Billie is cute as heck but more than anything I have such respect for him. And I don't feel that way about all the musicians I listen to. I respect Billie because he's always followed his gut and his heart. When people wanted to oust green day because they went mainstream he was like fuck you this is what we want, it's good for the band. And I love that he's always had that spirit. He doesn't let anyone get in his way of things he thinks are right, not even the fans! If he wants to do something, he'll do it come hell or high water. When you have so many sides yelling at you to do this or that, especially when you're as big as green day, it's easy to cave under pressure but Billie and the band in general have stood their ground and listen to themselves. I have immense respect for that. 4
Popular Post jengd
I totally agree with everything in the last three posts. I started off liking the music and the more I found out about the band, the more I liked and admired them. Yes, they are human but they are so talented and such good people, they are the complete opposite of sell outs and the fact that they are attractive is a bonus. I think we are in big trouble if we try to convince ourselves that we are wrong to look at people and think they are attractive. Looking at people, judging them and being mean about them is not the same. 4
Popular Post Vintage Disciple
Well, for myself, I will start by saying, I also started by liking the music in the late 90's and the more I learned about GD over the years the more I liked. Once I realized and learned in the early 90's that Billie lost his father at such an early age, I was totally transformed. I started to interpret and appreciate his lyrics more. I think there were other people in the past in this group that really did objectify the band and especially Billie in a negative way. I like to think our most recent group had a higher admiration of Billie, Mike and Tre than the general audience. Fangirls (guys/people) have been around for a long time. It didn't start with GREEN DAY! Like @Hermione said in the Saviors thread, Billie opened that "fangirl" door with humping the floor, kissing fans, and exclaiming somebody fuck me! Anyway, however you think of him and them, Billie will forever be a fangirl subject because HE LIKES (most of) IT!
Popular Post Slave To The Network
Yeah, I agree so, so, SO much with these posts. They are just incredibly genuine, compassionate, smart, talented, hilarious, and good hearted people. I feel like that is extremely uncommon to see in this kind of industry. They fact that they have ALWAYS stayed true to their roots and what they believe in is something rare that is so special about them. Their musical prowess is almost unrivaled and Billie's lyrics hit so hard because they are real, unfiltered, and vulnerable. I can't remember who said it (maybe Michael Mayer?), or what the exact quote is, but someone said in an interview that the way Billie plays and sings, it's like his voice is a direct channel from his heart. He truly loves what he does, loves the people he does it with, and loves the fans. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he's probably my favorite person in the world. 4
Popular Post jengd
And loyal! Seems rare in the world of celebrities but how admirable that these three guys have been able to work through goodness know how much nonsense and problems and still be there for each other and have each other’s backs. I’m sure there humour helps with that too.
Popular Post stories and songs
After seeing those Grammy gala photos I’m officially TOO ATTACHED to Billie’s blonde hair and will be in mourning when it leaves us. He looks so so so good.
Popular Post jengd
I realise this is slow to mention but it’s not bleached, he must actually be dying it a kind of honey blonde or something. Looks so good ❤️❤️

The Grohl
He's looking cute (as always) but something about his hair I don't like here....maybe it's the floppiness 🤔
jengd
I like the way he’s had his hair standing up at the front lately. Also, I wanted to say (but it doesn’t seem to have posted) that after seeing the EA games footage, could this be a t-shirt tour??? 2

It looks a little flat here and that changes the look of it a lot.

That makes zero sense but please someone tell me they get it 😅 3
