Dr. Drew is the worst (IMO). He's as bad as Dr. Phil.

No animals, but I love this pic of Billie

I always thought Billie looked like Bob Dylan in this photo--and that's why I love this photo. ❤️

@Hermione  thanks for that, I hadn’t hear it before and it was hilarious, though I’m not sure the doc really enjoyed their input 😂😂.  I love how they actually stepped in at times to say sweet things and help.  Which Bill is called Pepe?  Billie Joe, Bill Schneider. Was he with them then?

@Montclare I like how you think 👏👏

Had to be done. :)

Not the calves I had in mind, but I do love these. Would those be Adie's legs in the third photo? Also, calves are nice, but thighs are way better. We need to get more Billie thigh pics. That boy has luscious thighs. ❤️

It's their 1994 appearance on the sex/relationship advice radio show Loveline (which often had bands and other celebrity guests in while they took calls from listeners). I think it only surfaced quite recently. Gotta say I strongly dislike the Dr host on it, every time I've ever heard him speak he seems to be very sexist and give poor advice to women, although I don't think there's anything that bad here. It's long and I have no idea when he says it I'm afraid (he comments it as part of an ongoing thing where they're taking suggestions for a nickname for Mike's dick lol) but it's kind of an interesting listen

Thanks I’ve never heard this. Why of all things would they go on a show like this?! 😂

Based on what I am hearing now about the doctor, I probably won't listen to this, even though I am sure Green Day's contributions are hilarious and I am glad to hear they were being sweet (I would expect nothing less). I think shows like this are stupid because they are just sensationalized beyond all reason to get viewers and listeners. @Squashie mentioned Dr. Phil and I would agree: I don't watch his show that much and don't really think he gives bad advice, but I think the advice he gives is really just common sense that has been given about a dozen Red Bulls to hype the shit out of it. And bringing celebrities on a relationship show just doesn't make sense because being a celebrity doesn't mean you know any more about relationships than anyone else. Again, it's just hype. In all seriousness, just do the things you want, live your life the way you want, and surround yourself with like-minded people. Treat others the way you want to be treated and don't be a jerk. People get confused because they overcomplicate things--believe me, I used to be one of those people. If you are looking to someone else to give you the answers to your life, you're doing it wrong.

To stay on topic, have a cute young Billie:

It was on for years and loads of bands went on lol. I listened to another one with Muse from 2006. I guess it's fun plus in this case it was right when Dookie came out/before they were properly famous so they probably just did interviews wherever they were invited.

I don't think he was too bad in this. I just know he went on to present a notoriously exploitative show (Celebrity Rehab) and any time I've heard him giving advice or judgement it seems to be through a sexist lens and that he's kind of clueless about women (for example he seems to think every women who has any kind of problems in her life must've been sexually abused in childhood). But like I said there's really nothing that bad I can remember in this, it's just the band being interviewed by a female cohost and callers asking for advice in between and mostly nothing too serious.

Mike: “He looks like the Nirvana baby!” 😂

This show is classic.  I love it because it’s from February 1994, Dookie was out but not a cultural phenomenon yet they were still mostly unknown and they were all just relaxed and themselves goofing around together.

I think it was a fun little interview thing (maybe?). It was hilarious. I think it was a dumb idea to get Green Day to give people advice, but these kinds of radio shows are always dumb. It was super sweet how they'd joke around with the caller and then give real advice.

I'm not gonna lie, the co-host lady said that Billie's the dumb one, Mike's the funny one, and Tre's the cute one; she was not far off. They're all dumb though.

Wait, is this a reference to Billie's dick or is this about something else? And what does Billie's dick have to do with relationship advice LOL?

It’s Mike’s description of Billie’s dick 😄 He says it after Tre suggests the nickname Mushroom 🍄

LoveLine was a huge thing in the 90s & early 2000s. It was even televised on MTV for a run (3-4years maybe) with Adam Corolla & Dr. Drew. Anyone who took their advice from that show was probably not the best idea. I watched for the laughs, honestly.

Still need to listen to this episode. 2 weeks off from work and the email box is... yikes. Happy Monday!

I feel ya. I think I will still pass though because I really don't need anything more to make me feel like something is wrong with me LOL. The bit about sexual abuse is definite bullshit; you can definitely have problems without having been sexually abused. I wouldn't say I have problems, but as you all can tell sexuality has long been a self-esteem issue for me. I was never sexually abused, though I was sexualized in mistaken ways that were upsetting to me and caused me to feel like I had to repress a lot of stuff (which still didn't stop me from being hypersexualized). Basically I just think all these reality-type shows suck because they just exploit people for ratings.

Ok, yeah, I guess I get that. And while the album cover is iconic and I know their was no ill intent on their parts so I ask everyone to please not blow this out of proportion, am I the only one who feels just a little weirded out talking about a baby's dick?

Also, I don't see "mushroom" as an insult LOL. Have you seen the size of some mushrooms? Mushrooms are kinda cool objects and are also very tasty. :)

That’s what I thought, I’m pretty sure Mike still calls him Bill but just wondered if anybody knew for definite.  I don’t think I’ve heard of him being called Pepe before though, kind of suits him.

@BillieMyLove I would say that the doc really plays a pretty small part in this and is easily ignored but your call.

Not sure about in private, but publicly, I haven't heard Mike call Billie "Bill" since the early Dookie days.  Just Billie.

I feel ya. Anyone who believes this stuff has a bigger problem than just with their relationship LOL.

I have been partially working through the holidays so I avoided the huge backup. Good luck with the inbox, and have a great day! :)

Have you seen the way mushrooms look? Stubby, disproportionate, etc.

And then there's this wee bugger who doesn't prove my point very well.

When I was a kid these puffball mushrooms used to grow in my yard. It was fun when they let out clouds of spores at the end of the summer. Mushrooms are all different. That's what makes them cool, and that's what makes people cool LOL. (Just a PSA: don't eat wild mushrooms unless you are an absolute mushroom expert, as many are lethally poisonous. I am not an expert LOL, and that is why i do not try to eat wild mushrooms.)

This has become a very interesting conversation....

Mushroom foraging actually is very common (depending on where you live though) and it's easy to ID the most common edible ones. There are also lots of free resources you can consult and many experts offer their help for free too. You don't have to be afraid of it, but it can be hard to get into if you're new to it.

Yes, I know what you mean, and I know some people who do it. One of them was my physics prof, and last year he nearly died after he mistook a poisonous mushroom for an edible one, and he is an expert who has done this for many years. I think I will just appreciate the cuteness of mushrooms from a safe distance LOL.

Oh haha

Right?! These are even called "penis envy". (And are hallucinogenic but let's not get into that).
