This cover (it was 13 years ago today btw) is so great and I thought Billie looks really amazing in the whole performance. So, hearing and watching it at the same time was wonderful for me

By that do you mean it was prerecorded and they lipsynced to it? I can't believe I've never watched this before. I have the cover single, but never knew they performed it.

Yep, I read (but can’t remember where so could be rubbish but I thought it was true) that they were told on the day of performance that Billie could not sing it live because of the lyrics.  There was a real row, went on for hours, but in the end they agreed to have the band play live and Billie lipsync because it was for Amnesty, otherwise they would have dropped out.  Supposedly the whole band were very unhappy, took it as a slight on their professionalism that Billie would not sing the naughty words!

Same story but it was much longer, more detailed about it, am sure it was in one of the books, just can’t remember which one.

That’s definitely sang live though? As in he’s not lip syncing. I heard at the time they had to pre record their part rather than go on during the live show so the editors could edit out the swearing cause he refused not to do it

That’s true but he has censored himself often enough when he knows he has to.  I think he did lipsync, it’s a very ironic smile he gives at the end, not quite a genuine smile.

I can't believe no one posted about this yet. Honestly it kind of makes me question whether or not you guys are true fans.
