I think they don't play many of these songs live because the crowd is not going to respond with the same energy as the newer and more popular songs.

The same could be argued for Knowledge,  King For A Day, and 2000 Light Years Away. While I love those 3 songs, you could easily replace them with songs such as Nice Guys Finish Last, The Grouch, Going To Pasalacqua, The Judge's Daughter, One of My Lies, and Christie Road to get similar, possibly even better reactions.

They half played Christie Road when I saw them in London in February, but only half played, can't remember what came next as I was so excited, I love it to bits!

That was the whole point of the concert, to get people to donate. This hurricane was devastating, hundreds of thousands of people lost their homes and 60 people died. This concert wasn't to entertain you it was to raise money.

Although...it's still funny they did this while in Tampa...cause that's super cool guys, but you might wanna set aside some of that for us because we're about to potentially get seriously hit

Hopefully they won't have too. The news here is saying that there is still a possibility it will move east. Good luck and keep safe.

Oh, good. I couldn't 100% hear everything during the livestream, cause we were watching it outside in the concert line.

Disagree about Knowledge and King For A Day. I think they are the highlights of the shows because of the interaction with the crowd and entertainment factor they bring! With 2000 Light Years Away I agree.

Hurry, you only have a week. 🙂 You'll want to watch it more than once guaranteed.

Just watched the whole thing and it is amazing.

Man, they could be so much better live... I love how Billie Joe says "This song is called Paper Lanterns" and then they just go for it and play the whole thing followed by two other songs without any annoying HeyHos or something similar in between. So good!

The hey ohs can be a bit much but when I'm in a stadium with the band, I'm such a sucker for it!

I love the Hey Oh's and all the fan interaction. I don't enjoy concerts where the band just plays. I can get that from a record. I like being entertained, so bring on the HEy Oh's, people coming on stage, King for Day, etc.

It really is nice to hear Paper Lanterns in its true, full form for once, without the extended bridge. Love, love, love that song.

SAME! Although this was something different and I enjoyed it for what it was. I would not want them to play a set exactly like this at a concert.

Absolutely. I saw The Offspring recently and they just played one song after the other, zero interaction, nothing. After an hour and 15 minutes, it was over - for 50 Euros. :fuckyou: No thanks.

I love Green Day shows for what they are - a celebration. The FB live was great because it was a totally different setting, but I would never ever want them to become one of those bands who just play the songs and do nothing else as if the audience wasn't even there.

Yeah I know what you mean. That's why when I saw Black Keys it was so boring. They sounded great, but they didn't interact with fans and didn't try to hype up the crowd. Kind of the same thing with Bullet For My Valentine. The most interaction they do is signal for circle pits.

Exactly what I felt when I saw Offspring, except I saw them for free   Still felt like a waste of time, I could have been at home listening to my favorite songs of theirs.

Yeah! And the funny thing is that I compare EVERY other show I see to a Green Day show - and hardly anyone ever lives up to my high expectations. Green Day spoiled me 😂 That's what makes them the best live band in the world for me, hands down.

A celebration is a perfect description. That's what it feels like at a GD show. :D

This was fun but I agree, the crowd interaction (and hey-ohs) is what makes Green Day gigs so unique. In the words of Billie Joe:

What a shame they're taking it down though :ermm: As someone pointed out all the other live streams are still up so I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that it was a charity thing, somehow? But still not sure exactly what they could lose by not leaving it there. Glad it was recorded!
