Billie Joes Eyelids
So I'm just looking through some recent pics that Billie & Adrienne posted on Instagram and glancing through comments, when I noticed some people asking why Mike has unfollowed them. I go check Mike's account, & amazingly he is no longer following Billie or Adie. WTF??

I'm not blowing anything out of proportion, I'm just trying to come up with a logical explanation. It doesn't appear to be a random slip of the finger since it's both of them. Beerjeezus
wait, my popcorn isn't ready huh, I guess they all have personal accounts so no need to double follow the professional accounts

I admit it scares me a little. Edit: Thanks @Jane Lannister that makes sense. He's still following the other members of the band though. It's weird.
Hermione
Whatever the reason is I'd bet anything it's something rational and boring and not that he hates Billie and Adrienne or some other juicy drama
Popular Post thundercatmary
I follow them all on insta and I'm fairly certain it's no big deal and probably Mike did it accidentally. For one Mike had just liked Billies post on insta cause I saw it, plus I don't think he ever followed Adrienne just like Tre doesn't follow her, so I don't think he unfollowed both. Anyways just my opinion. 😊 Edited July 22, 2017 by thundercatmary

vomitslurpee
And no offense to Mike. He leads off saying he's speechless. Then there is a book report. Like Fat Mike said, 'that bassist can tell a 5 minute story in 30 minutes'. Oh well, in the end it doesn't really matter. RIP Chester. jengd
To be fair, he says he "has been speechless" - seems to be over it now though.

But the thought that they accidentally break up the band via Instagram because they hit the wrong button is kind of funny and very Green Day

Obviously it's nice he said anything but parts of what he said rubbed me the wrong way. Why try to put a positive spin on such a horrible, tragic death? "Today, this is how my eight-year-old son discovered their music, and as sad as it is on one hand, I can see the beauty and eternity in the music that is left for us to celebrate. So, as rough as this time is for everybody, I'm choosing to honor the beauty of art and life, by celebrating the music, cause ultimately to me, that's what music really is. It's like, Mike, really? It's not about legacy or what your son or anyone else gets to enjoy or celebrate. This is NOT about music for once. A man just died tragically. There's no beauty in that. It's just really, really sad.

Recognising that he created beauty in his life that will continue on in the legacy of his music after his death isn't the same as saying there's beauty in his death.

Did I say Mike said there was beauty in his death? I'm saying there is nothing beautiful about his death and the music he left behind with his band may be enjoyable but focusing on the fact that we have his music to enjoy despite the fact that he's dead is overlooking the massive human tragedy to focus on the positive side that he left music for people to listen to, like Mike's son. I know Mike meant well but when he put the focus on the music and not the man it just rubbed me wrong. In this case music is not everything. First and foremost Chester was a father, a husband, a friend etc. A human. Being a massive LP fan this has been really hard for me. You can imagine if it was Billie. I know Mike meant well like I said. Just feel like the focus shouldn't be on music in this case.

I think people have different ways of paying their respects, honouring the music he made might be Mike's way of honouring the man, you know? Fair enough if you feel the focus should be different but in any case as you say he meant well.
