Guest
Also, does anyone know what performances Awesome as Fuck is compiled of?As I remember they're listed in the booklet that comes with the CD. The DVD was shot in Japan.
Todd
I've been wondering about the recording dates for a couple of Green Day releases. Does anyone know where the 21 Guns Live EP was recorded? The only lead I have is that the Wikipedia page says it was recorded in 2009 in New York (not reliable, unfortunately). If this were the case, then that would point to the Madison Square Garden performance on 7/28/09 -- the only New York performance in 2009 where F.O.D. was played. If anyone can confirm, I'd appreciate it. Also, does anyone know what performances Awesome as Fuck is compiled of?Brain Stew and Jaded are from 2009/07/25 Albany, Welcome to Paradise and 21 Guns are from 2009/07/27 MSG New York, and F.O.D. is from 2009/07/28 MSG New York.as for AAF, the dates and cities are in the book, at the bottoms of each picture, while only the cities are listed on the tracklist. Since the pictures don't go in the same order as the tracklist, you'll have to do a matching game to pinpoint them all Edited October 24, 2015 by Todd

sara_gd
At the beginning of Cuatro there's some chords playing while Billie is surfing and talking about taking time off etc. Are they from any song from the trilogy? I can't get my head around it.

Ohhh I see, I heard about the song but I didn't know anything about it. The chord progression sounds cute, I would have liked to hear some sappy lyrics from Mike there Thanks!

Hermione
Who yelled fuck at the beggining of At the Library?I don't know who it is, but I don't think it's "fuck", I think it's just a random noise. It's been mentioned a few times by the band and others (including by Larry Livermore in that "My Adventure With Green Day" story) that Green Day hadn't sworn in any of their songs other than their cover of Knowledge at that point, if the first word of the album was fuck I don't think that would've been said. A few notable unreleased ones with swears are Maybe Forever and You can't fool me. I'm not sure about the latter one, though.

I'm not sure about the latter one, though.Yeah I'm not saying they were anti swearing or wouldn't have sworn in a song at the time if they'd felt like it. Just saying that if they'd sworn on that album (eg in At The Library) then I doubt it would've been said (by people likely only considering their released songs) that the only song of theirs they swore on was Knowledge. Plus I've just been listening to it and it sounds like a random noise to me But if it's known I'd like to know who makes the noise either way. I assume Billie is the most likely answer followed by Mike.

Not a Salad
Ahh yeah that makes more sense, the drummer calling out. Then again, I thought that the shoutings of "What time? *insert noise here*" were made by John until I saw the May 10th, 1990 video on youtubeI still wonder why the 3-4 unreleased tracks weren't released, but were played live. Guest
I still wonder why the 3-4 unreleased tracks weren't released, but were played live.Probably for the very normal reason of the band thinking they were a bit shit, so they got abandoned. Every band does it.

Beerjeezus
I heard that the 93 European tour included Germany, Poland and Czechoslovakia. However, there are only recordings from the UK, and even though multiple sources talk about this tour, I've never seen anybody who actually was at those gigs. I kinda doubt this happened. Or is there anything more than the rumors?

Or is there anything more than the rumors? I don't think it was 93, it was 91 and 92 when they toured Europe and played those places. They were tiny shows (many just in houses or squats) played when Green Day was unknown in Europe and before people filmed shows using phones or there was the internet, so it doesn't surprise me there aren't more accounts or recordings, even from the UK there's only footage of a couple of shows. It definitely happened, the band's given detailed accounts of touring round the US in a crappy van and then taking a trip to Europe to do the same, the lack of reports of it from people who were there is to be expected under the circumstances rather than being suspicious.

The 91/92 European tour was Germany, Switzerland, Lithuania, Poland, Czech, Austria, Spain, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, and Ireland. And there are more than just rumors to support that, if you'd like any specific proof, let me know and I'll show you.

Oh thank you I'm sorry if I sounded suspicious - any material from that tour would be extremely rare and I'd absolutely love to see it. Even the fact that it really happened is pretty exciting. Hermione
Oh yeah I'd love to see material from it too! It is a shame there doesn't seem to be any that's around on the internet (unless Todd knows of some?). I'm glad there's some from the UK shows around the same time at least. As well as the live footage have you seen that video of them hanging out when not on stage in England? Pretty bad quality but I enjoy it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcn_y4LZcbo
