Hermione
I while back I read about Green Day's techs forming their own band and I know they opened for Green Day on the last tour a few times as a sort of soundcheck, including at a concert I was at. Does anyone remember what they're called? I just can't seem to find this info anywhere but I remember reading it somewhere Yeah there were some videos of them on the Idiot Club Jeff Matika Show thing. I can't remember the name from there but I think maybe they change the name a lot? Or at least they used to. They played before Foxboro Hot Tubs in London in 2009 (kind of as a soundcheck like you say) and called themselves "Hot Mess" there but I think I heard they changed the name at pretty much every show where they played. WhiteTim
I heard that too but haven't seen any photos There's a black and white photo of the Nimrod tour where he's playing a strat but I'm too lazy to actually search for it myself lol

Hermione
weren't they called something along the lines of Dirty Dan and the Dickbeaters recently? That rings a bell . I think that was probably their name in the footage from them performing on the trilogy tour that was on the Jeff Matika Show.

HARVESTER
Does anyone knows the meaning of the line "Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial" of Good Riddance? Dead skin on trial? Bad tears of memories and asking for trial....
21guns&novacaine
I was wondering, is it Adrienne on the cover of 1039 smoothed out slappy hours? I know the EP's were released long before Billie met her, but I can't remember when they did the compilation at this very moment, plus it looks suspiciously a lot like her. But it seems like I read somewhere that it wasn't her... So I'm not really sure at this point.

This has cam across my mind many times too, but I definitely know that it's not Adrienne because Billie met her when Kerplunk was being made. The first song he ever wrote about her was 2,000 Light Years Away and that is on Kerplunk. I assume that it's just a random girl that the artist decided to use as a female figure to tie in to the lyrics. But who knows

ghesboro
Hearing Impaired. Aaron Cometbus mentions it in his Green Day special. Oh, that's where I read it then! Yeah now I remember, thank you! Yeah there were some videos of them on the Idiot Club Jeff Matika Show thing. I can't remember the name from there but I think maybe they change the name a lot? Or at least they used to. Yeah that makes sense (also according to Jane Lannister's answer). I also remember reading on ig -I think- a quite long name for them a couple of years ago, so we'd already have 3 different names. Oh well
HARVESTER
Now that I think about it I have a feeling that the girl on the album cover for Kerplunk is a depiction of his mother. I also suppose the artist was him. http://www.greenday.com/news/5050-skateboard-auction-200691

I also suppose the artist was him. The artwork was designed by Chris Applecore and Pat Hynes. I don't know who the girl is supposed to be, if anyone. I've always associated her with Brenda Spencer, if that's worth anything.
Travis.
Has Billie used any Fender strats (besides the yellow one from the 21CB tour)? Billie had Fender make some Strats (or Strat?) for the E standard Nimrod songs. You can see where Billie sanded off the two headstock stickers.

There use to be a thread on here where someone interviewed someone who actually knew the identity of the girl. It wasn't his sister or Adie, from memory it was a friend of the photographer. EDIT: Found the thread. Turns out it was a friend of Jim Lindberg, formerly of Pennywise & current singer of The Black Pacific
Green-Day_Rocks
I've lurked around this forum for 8 years, but never posted anything until now.. Anyways, not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but I was wondering where I could download various Green Day documentaries (Behind the Music, Driven, Born to Be, etc.) I know they're on youtube, but the quality is terrible. I checked in the downloads section here but couldn't find any links for them, and I don't want to torrent it either. Thanks in advance. If one is missing, just ask I've checked the forums there, and the documentaries I'm looking for are listed and have icons next to them such as mpg, wmv etc for the file type, but I can't seem to find a link to download them. Would it be best to just ask in "documentaries" forum? There hasn't been any posts there in about a year, so I don't want my question to be lost.
