EP? :P

See, that's what Magical Mystery Tour is—an EP of singles and b-sides and an EP of new material—and it's not considered a proper album. So that's actually conclusive, then. Yay Beatles!

The only songs on it not to have been released in some previous form are "Ha Ha You're Dead", "Suffocate", "Scumbag" and "Outsider", only four of the album's fourteen songs. If that counts as a new album then any decently packed Greatest Hits collection does.

"Suffocate", "Scumbag" and "Outsider" were released on the 'Warning' singles. "Scumbag" was also on the 'American Pie 2' soundtrack. All released the year before 'Shenanigans'.

So only "Ha Ha You're Dead" was completely new.

EDIT: "Suffocate" was also on the 'Good Riddance' single and on the Australian release of 'Nimrod' from 1998.

Ahh, okay. That's what I thought, but then I read Wikipedia and only saw "Warning" and for some reason thought it meant only they were recorded during the Warning sessions, not released on the Warning single. Well that just proves the point even further then, dunnit?

Haven't Suffocate, Scumbag and Outsider been released on the Warning single with Suffocate being even released on the Good Riddance one? That would mean, respectively, two and five years before Shenanigans.

Ah, right. "Suffocate" was on 'Good Riddance', too.

Another thing that's hideous is the aus version has the black tray, while the current US version has the clear tray. So they don't look nice on a shelf together

The story of "Who the fuck is Tré Cool?" is actually quite interesting.

One night, after a show in LA, the three of them were leaving a bar, very very drunk, when they bumped into Tom Cruise. Being very short, even shorter than anyone in Green Day, Tom was very quick to anger, and started an almighty kerfuffle. Not eager to take a pounding from the Hollywood A-lister's bodyguards, Billie Joe quickly shouted "don't start any shit you guys, Tré Cool will fuck you up!". The bodyguards were immensely confused by this, and paused, allowing our three heroes to scarper. Enraged, Tom Cruise could be heard screaming "WHO THE FUCK IS TRÉ COOL?" while admonishing his bodyguards for letting the trio escape. Tré of course found this hilarious, and had the t-shirt that Hermione mentioned made to commemorate that night.

So there you have it. Not a word of a lie.

I'm not going to get over that revelation :P

You really think it's the third best? Wow. My top three are definitely The White Album, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul.
