WhiteTim
It could easily have been recorded years earlier but was meant to go on Nimrod so it wouldn't have to have been recorded in 97 to be an outtake from a 97 album. True When was Scumbag and Outsider cause they were recorded at the same studio
Spike
True When was Scumbag and Outsider cause they were recorded at the same studio They were both Warning b-sides so 2000.
WhiteTim
They were both Warning b-sides so 2000. So it should be safe to assume that Ha Ha is from the same session?
Spike
So it should be safe to assume that Ha Ha is from the same session? Possibly, but they could have always done multiple sessions at the same studio?
WhiteTim
Possibly, but they could have always done multiple sessions at the same studio? True but with the same engineers? I doubt that escp with that time frame Plus when did Green Day self produce until Warning era?
Jon Benjamin
I thought Haha You're Dead was supposed to be recorded in 2002
Hermione
Yeah I'm pretty sure Ha Ha You're Dead was an extra song they recorded for Shenanigans, like so there was a new song to make it more worth having. Also when have the band said it's about Tim Yohannan? It's possible that it is but I'm not aware of them ever saying that. Could just as easily be a general song about spitefulness/hating someone so much you'd be glad if they were dead, like Pinhead Gunpowder's song At Your Funeral (written by Aaron but sung by Billie) released the year before.
Todd
They were both Warning b-sides so 2000. The original version of Maria was also recorded at Catbox. I always thought Ha Ha You're Dead was a Warning outtake, I've never seen anything before saying it was from Nimrod. My guess is it was probably recoreded with the other Warning b-sides. alienlifeform
Back when shenanigans were released there were no information about Green day in studio recording a new song or something.. of course the internet was still a baby back then.. still the best guess is that Ha ha you're dead was recorded before 2002
loveblondiebilliejoe
On which album do you think Billie Joe is hardest to understand on? -honestly i think its just about all of them, but y'know?
Certified Nimrod
Is the dog on the cover of Slappy just a random dog, or did it belong to one of the band members?
Hermione
Is the dog on the cover of Slappy just a random dog, or did it belong to one of the band members? According to Wikipedia (and I've also read it elsewhere so I think it's legit): The dog on the cover of Slappy was known as Mickey. "Slappy" was a nickname given to him by Mike Dirnt's friend Jason Relva. From that I'm guessing it was another friend's dog, since if it was one of the band members' it probably would've been mentioned alongside the rest of the info.

Fuzz
Where did Bowling Bowling Bowling Parking Parking gets its name?
Todd
Where did Bowling Bowling Bowling Parking Parking gets its name?I think it's just a random name, Green Day may not have even compiled the album themselves, it could've been done by Warner to promote their 96 tour. That may also be why it's not even considered an official live album on the same scale as BIAB or AAF. But the name's just as random as Foot in Mouth, I'm not aware of any reasoning behind it. loveblondiebilliejoe
Have any if you guys noticed that in the late 90s/2000, that Billie Joe used to wear a dog tag necklace? For example, I know he has it on in the "Walking Contradiction" music video and some live performances from that time. But he doesn't wear it anymore??Too bad cause I thought it was really cute on him? Edited September 17, 2014 by loveblondiebilliejoe
