I'm pretty sure that there is absolutely no way of knowing how much Jason actually wrote for Trilogy tracks unless The Boys themselves tells it, but looking at solos it's pretty easy to compare what is Jasons (Stop When The Red Lights Flash) to Billies (Makeout Party, Dirty Rotten Bastards, Loss of Control, Let Yourself Go etc) and then there is of course Lady Cobra where both play their own solos. Then there are solos where you can't tell at all is Jason or Billie playing the solo (like 8th Avenue Serenade) or other songs that I wouldn't know without seeing Cuatro (Carpe Diem and Sex Drugs and Violence - both from Billie).

But these are just boring assumptions; during Cuatro, Billie mentioned that Jason is on the right side of the speaker. Lets assume that if Jason is on the right, he also wrote it and vice versa with Billie. With this huge knowledge, we can tell exactly who played solo's in Trilogy and maybe tell also who played the riffs.

Before I begin, let me just say that this list is made with my own ears, they might lie to me but I'm pretty sure most of these are correct.

Let's start with Uno!

Nuclear Family: Jason (Intro riff + Rhythm), Billie (Lead + Solo)
Carpe Diem: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Stay the Night: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Let Yourself Go: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Kill the DJ: Jason (Rhythm), Billie (Lead + Solo)
Fell for You: Billie (Lead + Both solos), Jason (Rhythm)
Loss of Control: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Troublemaker: Jason (Lead and possibly solo), Billie (Rhythm)
Angel Blue: Jason (Lead + Solo), Billie (Rhythm)
Sweet 16: Jason (Rhythm), Billie (Lead + Solo)
Rusty James: ??? (For me it sounds like Jason is doing intro riff + both solos, but not sure at all)
Oh Love: Jason (Rhythm + First part of the solo), Billie (Lead + Second part of the solo)

Dos! (No wonder I love this album)

See You Tonight: Billie (Everything)
Fuck Time: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Stop When the Red Lights Flash: Jason (Lead + Solo), Billie (Rhythm)
Lazy Bones: Billie (Lead, Rhythm and Solo), Jason (Melody during 2nd verse and after 2nd chorus)
Wild One: Billie (Lead + both solos), Jason (Rhythm)
Makeout Party: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Ashley: ??? (Solo is from Billie but otherwise zero idea who is playing what because of those double-guitar parts)
Baby Eyes: Jason (Lead), Billie (Rhythm)
Lady Cobra: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm + Solo)
Nightlife: Billie (Solo), Jason (Rhythm) - Can't tell is Billie playing anything else than solo in this song
Amy: Billie (Everything)

Tre!

Brutal Love: Jason (Lead), Billie (Rhythm + Solo)
Missing You: ??? (Absolutely no idea at all)
8th Avenue Serenade: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Drama Queen: Billie (Acoustic + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
X-Kid: Jason (Lead + Solo), Billie (Rhythm) - I was very surprised hearing Jason doing the solo and not Billie
Sex, Drugs and Violence: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
A Little Boy Named Train: Jason (Lead + Solo), Billie (Rhythm)
Amanda: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Walk Away: Billie (Lead + Solo), Jason (Rhythm)
Dirty Rotten Bastards: Billie (Lead + all 3 solos), Jason (Rhythm + 2nd Solo)
99 Revolutions: Jason (Lead + Solo), Billie (Rhythm)
The Forgotten: No Guitar Tracks

There you have it. Does everyone else in GDC agree with this most accurate list of who plays what during Trilogy? Alsoalso, if you have ears, consider listening Missing You and telling me who is playing what 'cause my ears just flew off.

Wow wasn't expecting a response this detailed but thanks. I'll have to listen out for this the next time I listen to the trilogy

Anyone got a link handy to a thread or any discussion about the private show they played for Mike’s birthday in 2019? I know information was scarce but I’ve just searched failed at finding literally any mention of it anywhere

You’d have to search back to May 2019 in the Instagram thread I don’t think there was a separate thread for it at the time. There wasn’t much, just a few photos of the fancy tents and a couple short videos of the band at night.

ETA: Nevermind, I looked and all the links are dead

Cheers, I thought the search facility was just mocking me! Never mind. Don’t suppose anyone can remember what the clips were of? I know there was never much

I remember they played the usual covers they do as the Coverups, I forget which songs we heard.  They were up on top if a hillside and kids were rolling on the grass.  I think I remember someone saying the cops showed up over the noise or something, can anyone else recall that?

I freaked out for a minute because I couldn’t find it in my list of shows, but then remembered it’s on my Coverups list, not Green Day :P

The clips were of American Girl, Ziggy Stardust, Born to Lose, and I Fought the Law. I never saved any of the videos however.

Thanks! No worries, I was just starting to doubt myself as I couldn’t find anything at all about it any more!

yo @Todd, was looking on setlist.fm and found this show listed as the only known performance of Bab's Uvula Who?.

I super wanted to hear that song live, so I checked the downloads section and it seems this show isn't there. How do we know it was performed? Do you have a recording that you haven't surfaced yet or somethin or?

It’s mentioned in a review of the show that someone posted online, there should be a copy on the tour page on GDA.

What's the GD show with more attendance in history counting just one day? Milton Keynes, Wembley?

Wembley 2010 was supposed to be 80,000 but I'm not sure it was at full capacity. Emirates in 2013 was slightly over capacity at just over 65,000. I think Milton Keynes was 65,000 each night.

I think I read an article right after Wembley 2010 which said that it was their biggest show.

But besides solo shows, does anyone know which show (including festivals) was their biggest? BST Hyde Park in 2017 had over 65 000 visitors as well I think

Maybe something like Pink Pop?

Actually no, scrub that. Rock am Ring is 75,000 as is Leeds Festival

Lollapalooza says it's 400,000

You've left out Stray Heart. And The Forgotten does also have a guitar solo.

I had written Stray Heart previously but it seems like I actually removed it when I was switching who plays and what. I updated it, thanks for mentioning it.

Fucking The Forgotten, I hate it so much so I just assumed there is no guitar tracks since it's been years I've heard it last time. I hear Jason playing the solo, which makes sense since Billie is playing piano.

Isn't 400 000 the total number for all days? But yeah, could be Rock am Ring

The Forgotten isn't a favourite of mine but that solo is pretty good

I was searching through this music documentary/concert site and saw this one. I guess it is uploaded lately cause I'd never seen it on the GD section of the website a few months ago. I think it can be on YouTube too . I don't have time to watch through it at the moment but definetely I will sometime. If anyone watch it, I'm wondering your thoughhts for it cause I think it sounds interesting and also I think it doesn't include the members and shows more of an outside view of the songs and albums.

Is it this?

Edit: I watched it and realized I'd seen it before.  It's one of those package videos put together with a bunch of music journalists talking about the band's rise and what made Dookie so great.  It's okay, they only had rights to a few live shows and not the album tracks so they had a cover band playing a lot of the songs which was dumb.  The best thing about it is Larry's stuff, though most of it are things he's said in other interviews.  The funniest goof is they mention them living in the Ashby house (in Berkeley) but confuse it with Ashbury Ave in San Francisco so for several minutes they show B roll of the Haight-Ashbury section of SF that has nothing to do with Green Day 😄

Did the Bouncing Souls ever opened for a Green Day show?

Frank Turner did in Europe 2010 but can’t remember if that was as Bouncing Souls

Yes but I remember watching this one too, it was just for Dookie. So, now realized that I didn’t watch the ones till American Idiot, after checking out the full thing one more time.
