I've been to 7 shows from 2013-17 of varying sizes, from club shows to Wrigley Field, and still haven't heard Wake Me Up When September Ends live. Like, how?

Me neither (only been at one show during 99 Revolutions Tour during summer), but I got to hear many other bangers that they haven't played since then or very rarely like Murder City, Stray Heart and Brutal Love! Fucking Murder City!! God I love 21st Century Breakdown..

Remember the first wave of 2013 shows when they weren’t playing Good Riddance? I didn’t see it live until 2017 :P

I was at the first show where they brought back WMUWSE in 2017 so you don’t have to tell me about crying

My daughter was at that show, her first ever concert at 15.  She always remembers it by that fact, as the first show on the tour where they brought it back.  She and her friend had started walking out thinking the show was over and then he came out and played it.

That was such a great show. I remember it because Billie came out for KFAD in the Uno jacket! Stupid things you remember

The 2017 Oakland show was the first one where they played 21 Guns in the US in 7 years.  I remember seeing Billie take the capo off, so he was all set to play Ordinary World but changed his mind.  Others may have been happy, but it meant Ordinary World (which I love) was no longer played for the remainder of the tour.  Glad I got to see it at the Aragon.

Does anybody know who plays the brass parts on "Espionage"?

Since it’s not credited on the Hitchin’ a Ride single or Shenanigans, I wonder if it could be synths just done by the band & engineer.

If it recorded during the Nimrod sessions, I imagine it would be done but the people who did them on that album (Gabrial McNair, Stephen Bradley, Wayne Bergeron)

My first show was Oct2009 so 21 CB, incredible, they played Going To Pasalacqua, a snippet of Why Does It Always Rain on me in the KFAD medley and encore was Last Night On Earth, WMUWSE and GR!  I was in bits, they were so amazing and I such a battle to get tickets and it was worth it. I was completely stunned by the beautiful energy bomb frontman in real life 😂

Omg yes it was weird! It fit when I saw them at Shepherds Bush because the show was already weird (the band came on late which we now know was because their people wanted to call off the show and send Billie to rehab, finally Tre came out and opened by playing All By Myself, Billie got booed for singing Hey Jude as a joke he wasn't in on because Paul McCartney had recently got bad reviews for a performance of it, it was extremely hot and the pit was absolutely crazy, my sister passed out at one point - but insisted on rejoining the crowd after a few minutes, they played new trilogy songs I hadn't heard yet, a "wall of death" took up almost the entire floor of the small theatre during American Idiot).

When they just played 99 Revolutions and left without that "cool down" you usually get from Good Riddance it was like, the craziness just suddenly stopped and you felt like "now what?". It was surreal. It was actually the perfect end to that particular show but I'm glad they brought it back.

I can't believe I never saw that wall of death! If I had I've forgotten. Not surprising we were all being crushed up front

I know right? We were a few rows back from the barrier, it was so crazy. I was literally drenched from head to toe in sweat, never experienced anything close to it. At some point it intensified and we ended up behind a bunch of tall guys and that was when my sister passed out. After she got taken out and I followed her and she decided to come back we hung out at the side where it was more mellow until the encore, but during American Idiot I was able to mix back in and enjoy the wall of death. Most intense show ever!

I think during the trilogy tour they were playing a random song in the middle of the show for each city.

I got Rusty James it was pretty nice!
They only played it 5 times

I was at that show! (The Quebec City one in 2013?)
I was crowd surfing and got pulled up to sing Longview and got Billie's raccoon hat!
Also the Wall of Death at that show was pretty crazy and one of my fav Green Day memories

Seriously? I remember you!! He literally chose you when I was helding your back 😂 Wow that's amazing! That show was awesome (but i still prefer the revrad one in 2017)
For this show I slept in front of the arena with my friends the day before (Billy Talent was playing lol). But everything was so fucked up. Instead of opening the door where everybody was in front of, they opened all 4 doors from every corner of the arena. I still managed to be first row but that was so stupid.

That's awesome! Yea, my friend was trying to get me on his shoulders with someone else, but everyone around us thought I wanted to crowd surf, so i got carried away aha.
And yea I remember that happening too with the doors. And then walking out of the venue in a snow storm. I saw the show in Toronto the night before, and a friend and I got in a car with people we had just met that night who were driving to Quebec City. The girl, who we met/drove us , never miss a GD show together now!

Ok, I have an actual question that definitely needs to be answered.

During Green Day's Not So Silent 2011 Live perfomance, they played Basket Case and after first ''or am I just paranoid?'' Billie screams ''Oakland Californiaaaaaa!''. However, they decided to add this clip to ¡Cuatro! and instead of Oakland, California, he screams ''lets go crazyyyyy'' instead. My question is: Why did they change it from Oakland to lets go crazy?

That’s weird... I guess there’s a lot more nuance to what he says during shows than it seems?

Someone has actually posted that Cuatro version (audio only) to YouTube; is it allowed to post it here?

This has been a question in the Fangirls thread, but none of us can remember - what show is this gif from? I've looked at Russia, Estonia, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, etc. from 2013 and I've not been able to find it. It's driving me insane because I made it, so I must have the video somewhere. I've looked through all my stuff and can't seem to find it, though. Does anyone know? Billie must have only worn that shirt once.

Hi I’m looking for two random things that hopefully some hardcores can help me out with.

1. An interview Billie did around the time of Nimrod. Where he talks down on his guitar playing a bit, saying he “doesn’t know much” while complimenting Mike’s and Tre’s abilities. I saw it around 2006 or 2007 on another Green Day fansite and haven’t seen it since.

2. the interview where Billie talks about insomniac being his least favorite GD album.

thanks!

Has anyone ever seen a personnel listing for Stop Drop and Roll other than the one on Wikipedia? That one only credits Billie with lead vocals and has Jason and Kevin (who had nothing to do with the album) credited for guitars. I have a hard time believing that Billie didn't do at least some of the guitar parts.

Around the time they announced that 2008 tour, they announced they recruited Kevin as a touring member, and that he had nothing to do with the actual recording of the album. It was Billie and Jason who did all the guitars. I can’t remember if it was a press release, a MySpace bulletin or whatever, or if it’s still online somewhere, but I swear I vividly remember reading them say that at the time

Does anyone know what guitar parts Jason and Billie played/wrote in the trilogy? Who played/wrote the guitar solos? Or does nobody know other than the band themselves?
