Thank you for that! I really hoped it was him on The Forgotten. The piano in that one is so pretty. I wonder if he did any of the piano in Foreverly.

Norah Jones is credited for piano

Billie is credited for playing the pump organ

Something I've always wondered... why is the song called Longview? Also does anyone know if "little boy named train" means anything or is it just something random he thought of?

I think it was named Longview because that's the name of the town where they first played the song live

Yeah, it was named after Longview, Washington.  Billie tweeted about it in 2011:

It’s even on the town’s Wikipedia page

The way I read it, LBNT is partly about Billie as a kid always wandering off and getting lost and also about this family he knew that was a kid in his kids’ school. The parents were a lesbian couple and their child was born with indeterminate gender and they wanted to give the child a nonbinary name and identity until they could decide for themselves. Train might have been the name or it could be a made up name for the song based on the kid.

Was there really a horror movie they were supposed to write the tracks for or is that just a rumor?

It was real, they talked about it in interviews, around late Nimrod times I think. I don't think there was ever much detail but they said they were doing the music for a horror movie, I don't know if it was also going to be produced by them or what. I'll see if I can find one of the times they talked about it later, I've definitely seen them say it.

They start talking about it at around 1:47 in this interview.:)

That's totally the one I was thinking of! The epic hair on display made it memorable.

So it was more than just the songs they were doing then. I can't even imagine what a Green Day horror film would've been like

For real I think out of all the rumored and put off projects this is the one I'd want most

I apologize if the answer is obvious, but why did Green Day ditch the Tremolo Pedal for live performances of BOBD after the AI Tour? I don’t recall it being much of an issue for them to play the song with it.

Wasn't a large part of BOBD during the AI tour playback anyway, which is why Tre had to use headphones on that one. I think that might have been the main reason they searched for an alternative/simpler way of performing the song? I'm not sure if the whole intro was playback, but the guitar in the background with the two sliding notes certainly was (the part with the same notes as Billie's ah-ah ah-ah ah-ah line).

Wtf though, they have three guitar players. Shouldn't that be enough to play it without samples?

Well if I had to guess I would have said timing might have been a slight issue with live tremolo and they wanted to preserve the original feel of the song, but really I have no idea.

Hey! So, I'm still kinda a "newer" Green Day fan, I started listening to them back in April of 2016, but didn't really listen to them until the Bang Bang single came out in August of 2016. :) Anyways! Quick question- do they usually have a new album out first, then start touring a few months/ or a year after? I'm just wondering because I'm currently saving up money to see them again and get pit tickets again! And I wanna be prepared(have enough $) to buy tickets right when they come out. So I'm just wondering if after when they have a new album out if they start touring RIGHT AWAY or if there's a little leeway(spelling?) and they wait a bit?
