During Billie's 1998 acoustic solo performance on KALX radio he forgot the lyrics to the 2nd verse of Stuart And The Ave. and had to stop the song to remember them and when he got back to the 2nd verse he stopped again after 10 seconds and when they played Welcome To Paradise on Jaded In Chicago Billie starts off in F instead of E but quickly corrects his mistake and plays the rest of the song without a problem.

He was probably drunk

A possibility, but he's pretty good at forgetting lyrics when he's sober too

Don't wanna spam, but this seems like a more appropriate thread to ask the question (that I already asked in the Green Day Gear thread), as I think more people frequent this thread. It's also specifically for asking questions:

Does anyone know which guitar was used for the acoustic part in Wake Me Up When September Ends? In this video after around 12:30 you can see him play both what I think is a Gibson SJ-200 and another guitar which I don't know what it is:

On Equipboard one guy said it was the SJ-200 that he used, but I think it's the other, because Rob then says ''take the bright one'', whereby he probably means the second guitar.

I don't know, can anyone help me out?

And then also, does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives to that guitar that sound similar? (be it Epiphone or some other brand). Should be at around or below 400-500 dollars. I'd just quite like to get that sound.

It looks like a Guild to me. Can't be sure of the specifics but it could be a D-50 or an F-20, since he apparently owns both.

@Spike Do you think he used to Guild or the Gibson though? Sounds to me like he used the Guild or whatever the second guitar is.

Also, looking at either they’re not really in my price range, so I’ll still try to find a cheaper alternative...

I'd have to guess the Guild, it doesn't particularly sound like a Gibson. Although obviously he uses his signature Gibson to do it live, but that's probably because it sounds better plugged in.

Epiphone acoustics are amazing, or failing that Tanglewood are great for the price in my experience.

Yeah, sounds very bright. I was thinking of maybe getting something like an Epiphone ej-160e or possibly Epiphone (if I can afford it)  sq-180 (which would be kind of similar to his live acoustic guitar during the 21st Century Breakdown tour: the Gibson sj-180).

When Working Class Hero and When It's Time were recorded? During AI or during 21st century breakdown sessions?

Was "I Fought the law" recodred during AI sessions?

Is the speed of PAL Region CDs any different from NTSC Region CDs? I know this is an issue with video, so i'm wondering if it's the case with audio based formats as well.

(And yes, it related to Green Day. I like to import some CDs )

Working Class Hero was recorded specially for a John Lennon covers charity album in aid of Darfur in 2007. I know they demoed When It's Time during AI sessions but I thought they recorded it later - it says it was recorded in 2004 on Wikipedia though so maybe it was. Pretty sure I Fought The Law was during AI sessions since it came out in 2004. Perhaps someone else (maybe @Todd) can confirm these things.

I was under the impression When It's Time was recorded specifically for the AI cast album. I Fought the Law came out early in 2004, while American Idiot came out late in 2004. Green Day was in the studio from the tail end of 2002 until summer of 2004, so I wouldn't call all of that the AI sessions, since they did C&V, the Christmas album, the Network, and AI during that time. But I Fought the Law was recorded sometime during that timeframe.

The footage used in the WTP video is such good quality I’d love to see more from that show. Does anyone know what show it’s taken from and if any other clips of songs exist?

The footage comes from this show :

17.02.1994, The Slim's, San Francisco, California, USA

The other footage of this show can be seen in that MTV Video premiere for Geek Stink Breath (at 0:58, 1:22 and 1:55)

Read above...he walked offstage etc because Green Day won an award. He didn't leave it out...it was documented in Kerrang's etc.

So he hated Green Day. Who cares! He is in the Exploited!! Practically every punk band hated Green Day in the 90s and nobody cares if one asshole punk insults another at an award show...this isn't the Kardashians or Beyoncé. Plus it happened before most social media when people had lives.

Man it almost sounds like you're a cousin of that Exploited's dickhead or something. If Billie reacted like that, he had a REASON for it, period. Billie is not the kind of guy who just attacks someone for no reason. And judging by that interview and others, you can see that the Exploited guy was the real asshole in the way he was talking about Green Day. So yeah, not only that but also it wouldn't surprise me if he was making up some of those words.
Besides, "most punk bands didn't respect Green Day" is just a load of crap of you to say xD purist bands didn't. And it's also funny that the guy in the interview said "it's not about the money, it's about having fans for years and changing their lives" when Green Day did EXACTLY that and keep doing it + with a LOT more influence on many more people's lives than they did.
So not only he had no reason to hate Green Day (being a fucking lame purist doesn't make you right, actually it usually means you're wrong) but he was also being a freaking hypocrite and 100% wrong on what he said.

Also, the guy from Exploited said that pretty much every punk band that's slightly "famous" in the scene "is shit" and he even agreed with jon lydon, which just shows how much of an ass he is.

If you didn't get that and if you just think "Billie's an asshole", I don't get why you're even in this freaking website xD you're just showing you know nothing about him.

P.S.: you were being a real dickhead btw ;)

Can you chill out and not make things personal please? People are allowed to have different opinions on stuff the band does here. Also that post is 3 years old :P

Yeah pretty sure Billie himself would admit to being a bit of an arsehole at times . Sounds like that guy was a massive one though. A case of two people being arses to each other.

I remember reading something online a few months ago which claimed that Billie didn't want to put Horseshoes and Handgrenades on 21stCB, but Tre and Butch basically forced him to. Does anybody know if there is a source for this and where I can find it?

It's not much, but the places I know Tre mentions the song are here-

And the quote for his tattoo.
