I'm going to assume that you aren't trolling and are just a new fan. His name is Billie Joe Armstrong, and that's his real name.

Don't assume that. 😕

Not so much a Green Day, but GDC question- how do you tag another member in your comment?  I searched, but was unable to find the answer.  I thought it was just putting the @ symbol before their name, but that didn't work.  Thanks.

@Fuzz and everyone else in this thread - I'm not a troll!  I don't like labels for I am a millennial!  I'm sorry.

I just tried the @ thing...  it didn't work for me either.  If I can figure it before Trump drafts most of us into WWIII, I will let you know.

You have to type "@" first, then type the username.

If you put the you put the @ symbol before their name then a list of usernames should drop down, becoming more refined as you type more.  You have to click on the username from the list to tag them, otherwise it doesn't work.  For example, @Montclare works as a tag when I click on the name that pops up, but without clicking it just says @Montclare without any actual function.  So it's important to select it properly, rather than it just being based on what you type.

Also, FYI, there's a GDC help/feedback thread hidden over in general chat if you have any more questions:

Hey guys, I'm heading up to Portland to see God's favorite band on Wednesday and have floor tix. I was just wondering if anybody has a general idea of how early I should get there to line up outside if I wanted to wind up front row. I saw them at the Not So Silent Night Festival in December and was there about 5 hours before the doors opened but wasn't sure if that would be early enough for a show that's part of their tour. Any help is appreciated thanks guys!

Not really sure if this is the correct place to ask, but does anyone know what songs Green Day have brought people on stage to play guitar for? I know they brought a girl up to play Knowledge the other day, but other than that I have no clue!

EDIT: I want to clarify that I'm asking about this US tour specifically.

For Knowledge they always bring up fans to play the guitar, and sometimes bass/drums as well. They used to let people play Jesus of Suburbia in the past (2009 maybe?). Also they bring up a fan to sing during Know Your Enemy and Longview!

Does anyone have the source for this quote?

Quote

"I hate celebrities. I really hate them… I like people and I’m not a person that just stays in my house all the time and counts my money or anything like that, but I’m not going to go out and try to act like a star. I’ve got my set of friends - I love them, I think they’re great people. I love my wife - she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me in the whole world and that is all I need.

When I talk about my friends, I’m talking about Mike and Trè"

I know it's partially legit but I've never heard the Mike and Tre part, it sounds like something a fan has just tacked on  Maybe I've just never seen the full version though.

Lol that last bit does sound fake, although it could be incomplete or out of context. It used to be so much easier to find where GD quotes came from when there were more sites like Geocites and other random ones where there were loads of full interviews, all you can ever find is the same bits of quotes repeated on Tumblr when you google them now.

So "No Trump, No KKK, no fascist USA" has become a common chant at the rallies. Were people already chanting it and Billie said it on stage, or did he start it?

It is lyrics to part of a song by a band called MDC. Originally released in the 80s without the Trump part, but revamped and used as a chant. GD just picked up on it and made it more famous.

Okay, extremely strange question- has Billie ever mentioned the reason behind the cross tattoo on his hand?  I ask because I was watching the Blues Brothers and noticed Jake and Elwood have the same tattoo in the same place.

Reminds me a little of this one:

"I don't like actors," spits Billie Joe. "And I hate other musicians, except for the ones that I already knew or the few that are cool. I don't want to become an actor and I'm insulted when actors become musicians. I'm just not into the whole rubbing shoulders with the big boys kind of thing. I'm doing just fine without them."

He was probably thinking more of the cult of celebrity thing but sucks when your words come back to bite you in the ass (similar thing happened to me just today actually). Let me guess, 1994?
