I wonder if Adie gets jealous.

I have to look up the lyrics for Amanda, Ive never been able to get through it

In addition to what Todd said, in that Adrienne interview I mentioned (it was on Idiot Club ages ago and no longer there so no idea where it could be found now) she was asked about this and explained really well how she's just someone who was the "one who got away" and left a big impact on him, and she completely supports what he writes and would never feel jealous.

Damn, I'd be so jealous.

Well it's not like he's declaring his undying love for her :P, he just draws from his past experiences to write about relationships/breakups etc. The proper love songs are for Adrienne and there's plenty of them!

I find this topic about Amanda and Adrienne so fascinating. I never knew that between 90-94 Billie and Adie dated other people and that's when Billie was with Amanda. I thought he was with her when he was younger. I agree that it's perfectly fine that Billie writes about her in songs and there's good reason, but Adrienne is such a good person to not let the natural jealousy instinct get the better of her. A lot of people wouldn't be able to do that. Are there any updates on Amanda? Did she just disappear, never to be heard from or seen again? Are there current pictures of her?

Natural Jealousy instinct???  There is nothing natural about jealousy.  IF you trust someone in a relationship, be it romantic or just a friendly relationship, jealousy is not something that should enter into the equation.

Also the songs about her aren't even ones that would make someone jealous. They're not love songs dedicated to her, they're just on the theme of relationships in general (usually break ups) or make reference to things/people way in the past. While meanwhile he writes tons of romantic, current loves songs for Adrienne. No reason for jealously however you look at it . I wish I knew where that interview was because she said Billie expresses himself through his music and she totally supports that and has no problem with it at all.

There's not really "updates" on Amanda because she's not a celebrity :P. But I think Billie said in a trilogy era interview where he was talking about the song Amanda that he'd met with her after basically not hearing from her since they'd split and that gave some closure (which you can pretty much hear from the song as well). Does anyone actually know which interview that was?

What is the gig where Billie says ''they said we can only play for 45 minutes, I say fuck you we will play for as long as we feel like?'' The gig must have been around 2004 and he said it just before they played Jesus of Suburbia. I remember seeing a video of this but I can't find it.

Actually jealousy is really natural.

No actually it isn't a natural part of a relationship. Nor should it be. Jealousy is,what ruins relationships

Yes it's a common cause of the end of the relationships because it's a human instinct when you're in love, even if you trust that person. It's just that some people are able to rise above it and see the bigger picture for the good of the relationship, and some people can't. There is just no conceivable way that Adrienne never felt some feelings of jealousy towards Amanda with some of the lyrics Billie has written about her. She would have to be non-human to be in love with someone and not feel a twinge of that. But she is an incredible person who can look past those feelings and rise above them, partly because she does trust Billie and has faith in their relationship.

Wasn't that when they played in Bochum, Germany?

Exactly? It can only come from a lack of trust so it isn't natural.

Obviously we'll never know for sure what's going on behind closed doors, so no one can answer that question with 100% certainty (and nor should we be able to). But if their relationship is as healthy as they portray it to be, then it's totally normal and expected that she's never been jealous.

Wait...if this amanda broke up with him, and we pretty much saw he wasnt pleased with how it ended...well i doubt he'd still be in love with her... he is probably still hurt by her actions...so why would you be jealous of somone that hurt your husband?

Then I guess I must be a non-human because I have never felt one twinge of jealousy with my husband.  He even still wears a chain that his ex gave him because he likes it.  But because I trust him and I am confident in our relationship I have no need to feel jealous.  Jealousy is not a natural emotion.  Envy is a natural emotion.  If the envy is repressed than it can turn into jealousy.  For example, I asked hubby why he wore that chain from his ex.  He told me that he really loved it because it was a medal that was pertinent to something he did in his life.  It had nothing to do with his thoughts of his ex, it was just that it was a gift from his ex.  If I had not asked him about it, then it could have easily turned to jealousy because my thoughts could easily have turned to "why is he wearing her gift? "  The same goes for Adrienne.  I would make a guess that her and Billie have spoken about his past relationships and she knows that they are in the past.  There is no threat for her therefore there is no need to be jealous.

I guess people think she would be because he still thinks about her (or did for a long time). But regardless, if they have a healthy relationship then she still wouldn't be jealous. I mean, it's really normal to wonder about "the one that got away". I know I wouldn't be jealous if my fiance said he wonders about an ex, because I trust him completely, but maybe I'm a non-human too :P

Don't shoot....

What are GD's plans after Revolution Radio?

Also, I know Billie said in 2013 that it'd be great to do another rock opera, but do you guys think he will?

I feel the next album, which is hopefully worked on for 4 years or so first, will probably be something like that.

I hope so. I get that quite a few peoplr like their simpler, 90's style albums, but the trilogy gave people that. So that's 3, (4 if you count RevRad) albums devoted to that energy. I think we all want another rock opera now :D

No one really knows. Green Day really doesn't like sharing their plans too far in advance. My guess is they'll tour for a while more, take break, write some music, maybe Billie will do more acting (should be in the AI movie as long as that actually moves forward), maybe some new side project.

I imagine it's possible it'll get a theater release, but I guess they won't determine that until they gauge the interest for it once it's in production.
