solongfromthestars
This is a long shot but does anyone know how the early entry at the Italian shows will work? Like, where do you line up, how much sooner are you let in, do you still need to line up to some extent for that, etc? I'm sure it varies depending on the venue but just wondering what the general experience of it is. Seems like it's different to early entry on previous tours. Yeah, it was one of the options in the presale at the same price as regular standing. So far it looks like it's only for the Italian shows, no one has mentioned it being a thing at any of the others. I'm just hoping to get an idea of how it'll work before the show in case it's not obvious on the day.

The early entry tickets were 11,50€ more expensive than the regular ones though.

I'd be interested to know how many tickets there actually were too. Haha that shows how little attention I was paying with all the nerves, I thought they were the same price.

PurpleIron1039
Since I was unable to get tickets to the HOB show (I'm really bummed; my mom could tell that I really wanted to go and was even willing to fork over $200 for a ticket, but I think the scalpers got them all), does anyone know if I might be able to catch Billie and the guys around the venue (if you've ever hung out around a GD show before and caught them)? I've never met them before, but I would like to.

I've never met them before, but I would like to. I've never waited for Green Day before, but I've waited for actors and other musicians at the stage door plenty of times. It's perfectly possible to see them, since they have to get into and out of the venue somehow. Unless they have a private coach/car area where they can go straight from the door to the vehicle with no public access. I don't know the specific venue, but most aren't like that. There are 3 key things to remember: Be patient - bands like to take their time coming out at the end. They also like to arrive early. If you want to catch them, you're gonna have to wait for a while, be it before or after the show. Be respectful - whether it's Billie Joe or some random roadie, it's really important. This is their work day, and any time you're there will be a busy time. They're much more likely to take some time out and engage with you if you treat them respectfully as humans rather than yell at them. That random crew member might just be the guy who tells the band that there's a really nice fan waiting outside to speak to them. If the band are tired and on their way home, they're much more likely to stop and engage with you if they can see that a conversation will be easy. Don't get in the way - often venues only have one main stage door, and there'll be gear and not-the-band people rushing around. Getting in people's way will piss them off and is a surefire way to get thrown out before you have a chance to meet the band. There seem to be plenty of people on here who've met the band and can probably offer far more specific and useful advice, so I'm sure, if you do go, that you'll be going prepared!

Hermione
I remember during the North American tour in 2010 there were some shows where they brought a large number of fans on stage during (I think) 2000 Light Years Away, and there was one where Billie pulled Adrienne on stage as well which was quite amusing. I can't find the video of it now and it's annoying me, anyone know where it is or what show it was?

Second favourite son
Do Jason and Billie control their own effects pedals at the smaller/club shows? At big shows their techs manage all that for them, but I was wondering whether that's the same at their smaller shows.

If I remember correctly, Billie didn't control his pedal board at smaller shows where he still would run around a lot. I think he might have only used it at the smallest bar shows.

From the video it looks like there are effects backstage which are changed from song to song but that he uses pedals himself to do more within-song things (eg wah pedal). Also, I love how Mike just decided to design his own amp instead of bothering with effects

Todd
Did NOFX scrap Billie's foreword for their book? I downloaded the ebook version and there was no foreword in it. Maybe it's only in hard copies?
