Looks like Billie is on a stretcher at a show during the 2009 21CB European leg? Yeah it was during King For a Day/Shout in Germany on that tour, I believe he was just fucking around haha 8 hours ago, jengd said: He was blonde when we saw them in Glasgow in October 2009. I was surprised when I saw footage from Germany that he had gone blonde and was disappointed at first but when I saw him in real life, I couldn't believe how gorgeous he was - sorry fan girling on wrong thread! He was back to black the following June. I concur about the blond on that leg of the tour , he looked stunning.

RedundantIdiot
Another question that I've been able to find the answer to: why do they turn off the lights when they perform Holiday live?

It's just a light effect they use. Billie uses the flashlight probably to create the atmosphere during the speech part.

Sixtrix
This probably has been asked before, but now that David Letterman has stopped for a while what's a similar show Green Day could show up in as musical guests?

David Letterman retired, but the Late Show did not end. Jimmy Fallon replaced David Letterman. But there are also other late night talk shows. Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert also have shows.

Billie Hoe
I recently read an article which said that, in his old house in Oakland, Billie decorated the toilet seat with pictures of bands he hates I'm guessing one of them is Lynyrd Skynyrd, but what other bands do you think? Has he ever said anything about that? I mean I knew he made fun of Nickleback and once in an interview he said that he hated Lynyrd Skynyrd, but that's pretty much all I know (also I have a feeling someone might answer "SWMRS", so I want to make clear that they don't count )

So I don't think which bands were on it has been gone into. But if we're speculating they used to talk about not liking lame 80s bands (saying they created Green Day's sound by knowing they didn't want to sound like that) so probably some of them in there, Billie specifically said they almost didn't want to play Madison Square Garden in 1994 because Bon Jovi was on the bill and made digs at them during the show lol. And he's said that he liked the Sex Pistols but PIL was shit so possibly them. And like you say maybe conservative type acts like Lynyrd Skynyrd (hearing one of their songs was inspiration for the song American Idiot) or Ted Nugent. They've also talked about disliking boring grungy/shoegazing bands of the 90s quite a few times, they made fun of Sonic Youth in the original HLAHG, and they've dissed Oasis and Hootie and the Blowfish. Otherwise I'd guess nu metal bands and lame rock bands in general, they certainly used to trash them a lot. Don't know exactly when he had the seat but if it was post 2000 then I'd pick Limp Bizkit, Staind, Nickelback and bands like them. Can't think of more off the top of my head but they used to make fun of other bands a lot so there's a lot of potential candidates . Sadly I doubt he'd tell if he was asked now.
Chin for a Day
Didn't Billie also say how much he did not like Smashing Pumpkins? Also, in more recent years hasn't he kind of back tracked on some of those? I think he is more supportive of other bands now.

He (along with the rest of the band) was doing it pretty much up until American Idiot , they actually only started doing it a lot after Dookie. But yeah maybe he's more mature now , plus I guess they have to be more careful what with how things get blown up on social media.

Wait, if he hates Lynyrd Skynyrd (and I know that I've read him talking about how it partially inspired AI somewhere before), why does GD play Sweet Home Alabama at concerts all the time? I know that there are at least a dozen recordings on YouTube of them covering it on the 21CB tour. Is it meant to be done ironically? I think it was the lyrics/attitude in the song he didn't like, he said he heard it on the radio and felt like this is exactly what I don't want to be or something like that and it made him write AI. Doesn't mean it isn't fun to play it, although I do think it's supposed to be ironic in a playful way, same as with other bits of cheesy or 'not representative of their style or taste' covers they do. Don't know if he actually hates them, just guessing they're probably not his cup of tea based on his comments about the song and the fact they're considered right wing/conservative.
