solongfromthestars
I remember that girl being around when negative rep was still a thing and her posts being one of the few times it was deemed justified She wasn't the first or the last to go to Billie's house, though. Someone actually offered to put my book in his mailbox. I still have a note on the sale page asking people not to.

I think rep itself was introduced around 2010. And I think they tried negative rep at some point reasonably early on since I believe it was before I was a mod (2012). So might've been before you joined. I was strongly against it and never used it lol But yeah at the time Billie lived in a different house and quite a lot of people would go to the gates and take a picture. At one point I remember he put a pirate flag(?) or some pirate thing on them. For some reason that was a thing and not really criticised much. Only remember that one story of someone actually going to the house though. Thankfully not a thing now.

green day is
Elimiating negative rep was a mistake since criminalizing it just leads to a situation where only the bad guys have negative rep.
green day is
Who has the biggest collection of (physical) GD audio releases rn? I remember there used to be a woman on here (who I was also fb friends with) who had a gigantic collection including for example Look For Love. And all the singles and everything on CD + Vinyl and I'm sure tons of other stuff, you get the idea. What's the current biggest collection w/ photos?

The biggest known collection belongs to a French guy who goes by "greendaze." He has some of the props from the Minority video. I think he is on GDC but inactive. You might be thinking of a lady named Sharon? Mine used to be in the top five but I don't know if it still is (or if I can even find it all!). I'm gradually posting it all on Instagram and Tumblr but have been inactive lately due to ill health. https://greendaycollection.tumblr.com/ I started posting it on here but there wasn't much interest so gave up. If you're interested in collecting you might like to check out Green Day Discography and their forum. There's also this collection: http://www.greendaycollection.com/
green day is
Thank you : ) Is there no photo archive for greendaze? I couldn't find it on google but maybe that's just cause it's a slightly generic name Different question - I remember as recently as a few years ago, we seemed not to be aware that Live Tracks was an official release. It was never listed on the wikipedia article for their discography and no one ever mentioned it alongside the other live albums. And I mean ever. How did it come to be that we "realized" it existed/was official? Did collectors like this always know? And secondly, other than the couple of demo tapes in existence, what's the rarest "official" audio release there is? I noticed on greendaycollection.com there was a CD-R version of 1039 that had handwriting on it, which I assume must be from either a band member or someone at the label or something and therefore unique. Are there other things like that around?

Are there other things like that around? Ever since I’ve been collecting (2012), I’ve always been aware that Live Tracks is official. It’s not that special, it all of its tracks were re-released on Foot in Mouth and BBBPP, and those had even more. So that may be why it’s not mentioned too often. The rarest official releases I can think of are the cloud shaped Hitchin’ a Ride CD, the AUS Waiting CD with Maria that was recalled, and supposedly there is a JAR promo cassette, although I’ve never seen one.

It refers to the Vietnam war so it could mean that the subject has his own personal war to fight or that he has his own post traumatic stress disorder as a result of his personal war/conflict.

I also think of it as he own never ending internal war. Much like the US has been in Vietnam for years and never left completely, his internal war will always be there for him to fight against.

Agree with @Todd about the rareties. I have a US 86 promo I found late one night on eBay that none of the other collectors knew about at the time! I'm not sure if that means it's especially rare (PRO-CD-7994-4 but I have no idea where it is!)
Jirachi
For some reason I remember being told Devo did some work on the Money Money 2020 album and wanted to know if this is true? A friend likes devo so it'd be cool to show 'em if this is true.

Per USA Today via GreenDay.net: "I've been hearing so much about the Network-Green Day theory lately that I just had to include it in today's column. See, some people are saying that a new CD put out by a band called the Network is actually Green Day in disguise. (Members of the band have denied a connection.) Others say the Network consists of Green Day members collaborating with Devo. What do you think? The band does sound quite Green-ish ..."
green day is
I was thinking if anything they might have a writing credit for similarity same way Bowie and Sam Cooke do for those GD songs. Too lazy to check tho :^)

All songs are credited to Billie, Mike and Tre (Except for Teenagers From Mars of course, it's not listed on Billie's SESAC page)
Hermione
I think it just became a rumour because they wore weird outfits and did electronic new wave 80s music similarly to Devo, and no one knew who all the members were for a while because of how sneaky they were about it.
