JellyTime
I agree about the runway (massive asset to their arena/stadium shows) and Good Riddance, however they have said they lost money on the 21st CB tour and couldn't really do that again so it might be that cutting back on props like that is necessary to keep ticket prices reasonable, When and where did band say that? I was sure 21st CB tour was successful.
Hermione
When and where band said that? I was sure 21st CB tour was successful. It was successful, it's just that the massive show cost a lot and they didn't charge that much for the tickets. Here's one place Billie mentioned it in 2012: "To be honest with you, on the 21st Century Breakdown tour, we ended up in the hole! We put this huge production together and pushed it so hard, we pushed a little too hard." scan of article with full quote: http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/89973-green-day-qa-kerrang-part-2-is-out/?p=4872701

Karl Karlson
What does Tré shout immediately after "J.A.R." on 'Awesome as Fuck'? I know that songs on that compilation are cut here and there and sometimes they play songs without pauses between, but I don't think he shouts "1, 2, 3, 4" like he does sometimes. And yeah, I don't like AAF because it feels artificial to me. There's not chatting or announcing songs (for most of the times) and just no pause between songs, which gives me (/the listener) no pause to digest the last song. UnoDosLuke_xx
Other than the fact proceeds and money generated from the sale of the single would go towards charitable purposes based upon the Hurricane Katrina disaster, how did the Green Day/U2 collaboration come about? Why choose that song? How'd it come about? etc.

They used a verse and chorus of The House Of The Rising Sun because it mentions New Orleans, which is where they were raising money from. Guest
Because bands from Dunfermline don't get mentioned every day: Literally posted that exact video in another thread this morning Also, slightly random, but I used to work with an engineer who was completely obsessed with The Skids. I once got a lift home with him and he blasted a live album of theirs the whole way
Jirachi
Out of curiosity, are there any songs we know of that the band doesnt like? like, I remember reading somewhere that Billie doesnt like Horseshoes and Hand Grenades and that theres a song off their first album he doesnt like for being too sappy or something (Dont know if either are true or not) are there any others? Billie claims he had to repeat it many times when recording and got fed up with it.

Not really any concrete evidence of him disliking it, more that it probably just isn't one of his favourites. And yeah that's true about 1000 Hours, the quote was "Not only was it not for a band to play or to play as a band, it's just the sappiest song about a girl, to the point where it's like a bad John Hughes movie!" . I can't think of any others.
