I don't think him drinking is the problem, it's drinking too much and mixing it with pills that was his downfall. There have been photos of him with a drink since last year. Considering they did go on tour since rehab and he's been doing numerous other projects, it's doesn't seem to be the problem it was before. Otherwise more people would have been talking about it.

I think this appearance was either the Foxboro Hot Tubs shows on March 14 or 15 in Austin, Texas (obviously, because the timing fits perfectly).

We know BJ was spraying beer and acting crazy there because that's what Forxboro shows are meant to be like. For someone who doesn't know what this side prpject of theirs is about, it must seem suspicious. Maybe they just took it the wrong way, I mean with all the beer cans around BJ and photos of them in his hand and of him spraying it around, it's very obvious for someone to conclude he is drinking again. But we, as fans, know all of this is a part of their show and doesn't have to mean aynthing. I think it's very likely this is all this is about.

Just sounds like an attention seeker talking shit tbh. Acting crazy on stage as the Rev doesn't mean he was drunk, he quite clearly wasn't from everything we've heard from people who went to the show as well as from seeing videos. And as far as if he has the an occasional drink that's no one's concern anyway, sorting out a problem with drinking too much doesn't always mean never touching any amount of alcohol ever again.

I'm just going to leave this here

"I can't go there. That's my last drink. Which is good-it's documented. Anytime I feel like drinking, I can think about it."

Yeah, that's not a promise to anyone though. He may well have meant it was his last drink before he got help with not drinking to excess and any time he feels like drinking to excess or for the wrong reasons he can think of that. Or not drinking at all might have been a temporary plan only to last for a certain amount of time which has passed now, or his plan might have changed. His business really, whatever works for him.

25 Unreleased Albums We'd Really Love To Hear
Green Day - 'Cigarettes and Valentines' Plans for ‘Cigarettes and Valentines’ were thwarted when the master tapes were stolen from the studio, however the band decided not to re-record the album, instead starting work on what would become ‘American Idiot’. We’d bet that, in hindsight, the band are almost chuffed they got robbed and released their politicised 2004 classic instead.

That interview was done very shortly after he finished up with rehab. Maybe afterward he felt like he could handle the occasional drink and realize his own limits. Ultimately, he's a grown man and is capable of making his own decisions. He doesn't owe it to any of us to never have another drink. He stopped the drug use he had in the 90's without any fans needing to persuade him or for anyone to feel pity for him. Drugs and alcohol affect people very differently. As Hermione said, some people decide they'll never drink again, some people can still drink without it becoming the problem it was before.

I never said it was anyones business...any of it, if he uses loads of drugs daily or is sober as a judge but the quote is his and HE said he couldn't take another drink. I'm not saying I even believe he takes his own words seriously. I'm sure you know there are those among us who take what Billie says with a huge chunk of salt including anything relating to being sober...but like you said it's entirely his business.

What photos of him with a drink? Besides the PBR he sprayed at FBHT, I haven't seen anything. Just curious.

Well, I had heard from people who met him. But the only proof besides word of mouth was this photo. http://i.imgur.com/ZwDAH8d.png The guy in the middle said he was his cousin and met him and his sister Anna in 2013. Someone said "I hope that's a root beer in his hand" and he replied with something like "I'm sure one beer isn't bad. I remember him saying it was his only one that night".

BJA did tons of drugs in the 90's and never seemed to have many problems, so I reckon he knows what he's doing.

OH NO HE'S RELAPSING AND THE BAND IS BREAKING UP!!!

Ha, cool. I never saw that picture before. And everything is OK in moderation. I don't see a casual beer triggering something harmful. The pills, however, those could be a bit problematic if they ever resurfaced. But hell, what do I know?

It's not like he was in a Deryck Whibley situation. I'm sure those around him will be looking out for him and keeping him in line if necessary.

Yeah that's basically my attitude. I'm glad he realized how bad the situation was by going through rehab the best anyone can hope for is that he's healthy and better knowing of those limits.

I don't think it's fair to assume anything about his sobriety, whether it's that he's now drinking casually or is still struggling with it. He hasn't shared the details with us, until he does we can't be sure of anything and it really isn't any of our business.

Yes, but at the same time there's nothing wrong with discussing the concepts maturely without assuming we know all the answers, because I've never claimed to.

I didn't say you had. But obviously there's a fine line between discussing the concept and speculating, and crossing it is just an invasion of privacy (not saying people are trying to, just that it is and it's a fine line).

16 MUSICIANS LOSING THEIR SHIT ON STAGE

GREEN DAY

If you’ve ever seen a toddler throw a fit because it’s past his bedtime, then you should already be familiar with Billie Joe Armstrong’s legendary tantrum at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in 2012. After Green Day got their set cut short to make room for Usher, Billie dropped the f-bomb almost as many times as America has had to hear that stolen intro on “American Idiot.” He reminded everyone that he’d been around since “fucking nineteen eighty fucking eight” and that he “is not Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers” before smashing his guitar and tossing the mic. He checked in to rehab two days later. Eyeliner is a hell of a drug.
