33 Lesser-Known Classic Albums From Bands You Love

2 of 33: Green Day - Nimrod.

'Dookie' is, of course, Green Day's 'Nevermind'. The band's 1994 breakout was an enormous success and took away attention from the following records 'Insomniac' and the experimental 'Nimrod'. Release a top-class record and whatever comes next is always going to be judged against even more harshly.

14 Celebrities Who Came Out As Bisexual

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong

"I think I've always been bisexual," Armstrong told The Advocate in 1995. "I mean, it's something that I've always been interested in. I think people are born bisexual, and it's just that our parents and society kind of veer us off into this feeling of 'Oh, I can't.' They say it's taboo. It's ingrained in our heads that it's bad, when it's not bad at all. It's a very beautiful thing."

Billie Joe Armstrong featuring Avicii soon??

http://www.krone.at/Musik/Avicii_Der_schwedische_Goldjunge_am_DJ-Pult-Krone-Interview-Story-407527

"For my next album I got Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Brandon Flowers of the Killers and even Chris Martin into the studio - this is so great for me"

There's now a thread for this (just saying so that anyone who wants to discuss it knows to do it there):

The 12 Best Secret Gigs You’ll Wish You’d Witnessed

Green Day @ The Paddington Hotel, Sydney – 20th February 2014

The night before they were set to play in front a stadium full of Brisbane fans for Soundwave, US pop-punk veterans Green Day decided to throw a surprise club show in Sydney at the eleventh hour – announcing it on Twitter a mere half an hour before they hit the stage – making it a truly special night for the lucky few hundred switched-on fans who got there in time.

“I guess a few of you saw the tweet,” joked Billie Joe Armstrong when arriving on stage, before whipping his bandmates through an hour-long, 12-song set of their biggest hits, including ‘American Idiot’ and ‘Jesus of Suburbia’.

6 Things We Learned About 1998 From the Godzilla Soundtrack

Billy Joe Armstrong's duet with Godzilla himself (more on that below);

5. A Remix Meant Just Adding Monster Roars.
Green Day's "Brain Stew" is great, so what if we added a few Godzilla roars? Siiiiiiiiiiick.

Green day mentioned here:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/16/the-buddhist-punk-reforming-drug-rehab.html

"Called “Gilman” by locals, the club opened in 1986, and is one of the longest running independent music venues in the United States. Featuring all-ages shows, this underground music mecca cultivated the careers of bands like Green Day, NOFX, and Rancid, until they signed to major labels and were no longer welcome at this volunteer-run and alcohol-free venue"

He might party with his own son on stage, but if you want Billie Joe Armstrong and his Green Day gang to rock out with your own little offspring, it’ll set you back upwards of £440,000. You’d be an idiot, American or otherwise, not to.

I wasn't aware that Jesus Of Suburbia had any influence outside of The Milky Way. Kerrang truly are a mine of information.

very sorry if this has already been posted (hard to control my toddler and read through heaps) but I just came across this http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2014/06/blind-items-revealed_3688.html

this would have been when they were down here in Australia, when I saw them I did wonder but hoped he was just exhausted, anyway, hoping its not true and is just gossip, it is from a gossip site after all.

Only that Adrienne tweeted a poster for them, asking everyone to send it around.

that makes me so sad I saw a post on instagram that green day went drinking at a bar in melbounre before the soundwave show the next day, but I though billie would've just had something non alcoholic.

Sounds like that's just people trying to spread rumours, the secret show was reasonably well documented and no one else has mentioned that. Not that it's any of our business anyway but yeah.
