WorryRock02
http://www.thesunflower.com/entertainment/article_d34e63a6-b5cf-11e3-9e9d-0017a43b2370.html This is one of the most misused and misunderstood songs ever written. What Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong wrote as a bitter breakup song turned into the soundtrack for high school graduations across the country. So it wouldn’t hurt to misuse it one more time, and it will still feel appropriate during the apocalypse. The strings used to complement Armstrong’s acoustic guitar have a melancholy vibe. After the world crashes and burns, you’ll want to listen to this song and remember all the good times that you can no longer experience.

xXRustyJamesXx
Holy shit whats wrong with them?! Restless Heart Syndrome? Really? "As a song, The Forgotten actually isn’t that bad; it’s a perfectly pleasant piano-ballad, with a lovely sentiment behind it. But the Tre! single unfortunately featured on the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 soundtrack. ENOUGH SAID." They say this song is not bad but its featured in the Twilight Saga and that's a reason for them to put it on the list?!

Shows they actually tried.

Really? The rest of it I don't really disagree with (except Misery and Warning; how dare you, sirs!), but All By Myself is clearly a joke song. To call it meaningless would essentially be saying the same about Longview.

Not saying it's the greatest moment of their careers or anything, but yeah.

Popular Post The Disappearing Boy
My jaw literally dropped at the inclusion of Restless Heart Syndrome. And I would definitely disagree with Misery too, great, unusual song.
No Rhyme Or Reason
That whole list is horrible. Some of those are my favorite songs! And it's stupid of them to include "The Forgotten" - they said it's "perfectly pleasant… with lovely sentiment behind it," but they included it JUST because it was on the Twilight soundtrack? Being used in a bad movie doesn't make a song bad. That doesn't make sense.
Popular Post Fuzz
I agree with putting The Forgotten in there. I think Twilight totally ruined that song for me.
Anaïs.
All of their Trilogy picks were spot on, but the Warning tracks and RHS are unforgivable.

It's the only Green Day song that I literally cringed the first time I heard. I feel bad for SD&V. I also cringed because of the chorus rhyming english math and science part, even though upon further reflection I can see how it makes poetic sense like "getting back to basics." The verses in the song I think are actually really strong, it's just impossible to get past that chorus
The Disappearing Boy
The Forgotten was a shit song before they put it in Twilight, so it doesn't really make any difference.

And the Forgotten music video without Twilight is actually quite beautiful. It's not on Youtube any more because someone took it down. Does anyone here have it saved?

desertrose
The X Factor: Who do the stars want to see as a judge? "I think a rock superstar would be good - someone like Matt Bellamy from Muse or Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. Someone who's done gigging and slogging away on the circuit of pubs and clubs would be a really interesting addition to the panel. http://www.digitalspy.com/british-tv/s103/the-x-factor/realitybites/a560526/the-x-factor-who-do-the-stars-want-to-see-as-a-judge.html Music Quotes of the Week: "There was a lot of whining in rock at that time. By nature, we're extroverts. So that's what came across in our songs. We knew we were entering an arena of bands that we didn't like."On the 20th Anniversary of Dookie, Billie Joe Armstrong looks back on prepping for Green Day's major label debut (Rolling Stone). http://blogs.sfweekly.com/shookdown/2014/03/music_quotes_mia_cash_gza_science_bieber_slap.php

Popular Post Hermione
Kerrangs top 11 worst songs by Green Dayhttp://www.kerrang.com/8205/11-songs-wish-green-day-never-recorded/ Can't believe they've said something bad about them No songs from the Sweet Children EP are included so the list is a failure. And ridiculous to include All By Myself when it's just a joke hidden track, and Restless Heart Syndrome when it's clearly an amazing song. Disagree with most of the rest but I can see why they chose them. The Saints Are Coming is their best pick haha. I agree with putting The Forgotten in there. I think Twilight totally ruined that song for me. I'll never understand how a song being in a film that you can easily just not watch and pretend doesn't exist can make any difference to someone's enjoyment of it. Seeing the video once hasn't made me associate it with Twilight any more than seeing a random fan video on youtube where someone stuck Boulevard Of Broken Dreams over some Twilight clips would make me associate that song with it.
