Random Green Day News

It feels like there are more issues of Kerrang than weeks in a year. Does this magazine come out every other day?

Soundwave promoter basically confirms Green Day are going to take a long (years) break after Australia

"Basically confirms" isn't exactly definitive in my book. Unless it's spoken from Billie's lips, I'm not banking on any hearsay or rumors. Everything seems to just be misinterpreted or exaggerated from Billie's initial ramblings at a concert, which we all know make about as much sense as reading a foreign language some days.

Billie said in a interview for Foreverly that after Australia they had no plans for a bit but he didnt use the word hiatus

Can we really trust his judgment of time though? It's not like there have been any official statements or anything about it. I think "years" is a bit too long of a break to expect.

Well it just my opinion is

Billie's a creative person I think Billie just speaks about alot of stuff and stuff he probally does mean but then he'll get another idea and then hops on to that until the next idea comes along but in the meantime fansbwill read something and assume thats what they are gonna do... lol

I used to work for a artist and like Billie he was very creative and talked about wanting to do something but then a day or so later he'd jump to another idea until whatever idea captured him to finish I have over 300 songs that are just skeletal and elements of songs cause hed start and then while in process another would hit him bam save the other and move on to the next

I think fans should take the words of people like Billie very very lightly on stuff cause creative minds arent always the most reliable of info regardless of being the main member or not lol

AJ isn't really all that reliable. He has said that the Australian dates were the last time BFS were performing outside the US, then just recently they were announced for Download. Let alone all the things he gets wrong about his own stuff. Although he is a good scope into what is going on he never gets all the information as well as having issues with time frames.

Yeah aj pushed it up - suddenly a break has changed to a long hiatus lasting years ;)

Some random promoter doesn't know anything about what Green Day's plans are, they'll just be going by comments from the band that mean nothing like mentioning a "break", a word which could mean anything from a couple of weeks to months coming from them and which wouldn't even necessarily mean they weren't doing anything. Nothing the band has said has indicated they're going on any kind of "hiatus", there's nothing to worry about.

Awesome! What a badass selection of photos.

The article in Kerrang this week is just a re-write of the Rolling Stone interview with Billie the other day. It is less than half a page and mostly quotes from that article. I didn't buy it

I believe that some people are trying to create a big deal out of nothing. Billie said that they will take a break after this mini tour... and? Where is the big deal?
Seriously, only Green Day can know how much time they need, not a random promoter (like Hermione said).

.. after every tour they take a break...ALWAYS...so what's wrong this time? why are all worried? i mean...if we want a new album ... we have to give him time to create one...they are not automatons..I'm pretty quiet ... they want to avoid stressing too much Billie

And I mean, no matter who it is, we can't exactly trust a show promoter, who's obviously going to want to build up hype for their show. "It's the end, come buy tickets for Green Day's last show!"

Wasn't really like that though - aj tweets all day long - he doesn't mix words either & sales have been great & GD have been the last band he had to worry about - they approached him to headline & they have slowly pushed their timeslot to 3 hours.

Did I read somewhere that their stage was changed also? Is that a big deal?

Billie Joe mentioned here: http://www.tv3.ie/entertainment_article.php?locID=1.803.813&article=126398

'My dream panel would be Simon, Louis - obviously got to have Louis - Cheryl would be amazing to have on, and I'd put Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. I think he would be really different and kind of be really no-nonsense about it, and give a really different perspective to the show.''

No the Perth event venue changed - no big deal - also I meant aj tweet was more of a flippant remark.
