Well, I buy CDs, too. I use Amazon Music in my car.

I buy it digitally.  Listen on Youtube and Spotify sometimes, but hate commercials and don't want to pay for plans.

Just now, Jean said:

Not sure if anyone is watching the VMAs but they're showing Cheech and Chong on stage and Cheech is wearing a drunk bunny shirt.

Was just going to mention this!

On a similar theme to the CDs versus streaming conversation, am I the only one who prefers paper tickets/print at home tickets over e-tickets? I can see how e-tickets are quick to get into the venue and it saves postage of the tickets, but some people like to keep the paper tickets from the concert or are worried about accessing e-tickets at the venue.

We had e-tickets for Bryan Adams 3 months ago but none of our devices were picking up a good enough Wi-Fi signal at the arena (which Showsec employees at the arena admitted isn’t great) so we had to queue to get paper tickets at the box office. We’ve since got into another gig at the arena with screenshots on my phone of the e-tickets, but I liked being able to choose to print my HM ticket at home over an e-ticket as I could keep it as a souvenir (not to mention I knew there wasn’t going to be hassle at the venue with paper tickets).

I do miss the days I kept all my ticket stubs from shows, but I stopped when etickets came along that never felt the same to me as an old machine printed ticket ripped in half. The digital tickets I don’t like are the kind you can only open in the company app (like AXS) and I do worry about those wondering if they’ll work when you need them too. Ticketmaster ones I like because you can add them to your Apple wallet and those are downloaded you don’t need Wifi to be working to access them.

No, I love collecting old paper tickets. Only got E-Tickets for Hella Mega.

For upcoming shows and Rock am Ring it‘s still papper

The gig that I used the screenshots to enter was supposed to be app only (Gigs and Tours app), no screenshots or tickets from the box office. Only when we got there the arena wasn’t doing app only and we could use screenshots or paper tickets to get in (presumably because the arena knows it’s Wi-Fi is too shit to do app only). Not sure why Gigs and Tours tried to put the fear of god in people by saying that people would be turned away without the app working.

I find the no screenshot thing to be weird. I've always taken screenshots as a just in case (my phone doesn't always like the reception at Sox park). I've never had an issue with doing it this way, and this year was the first time I've heard any venues say no screenshots. How do they even tell the difference unless they try swiping your phone? If they did that for every person, it'd take forever for everyone to get in.

On a different note, the arena is going to be replaced with a new purpose-built arena in 2024. GD, if you're reading this, we'd like you to come to the new arena!

I've been collecting CD since the early 90s, and yet in 2022 I've pumped the breaks.   I have bought three cds and a few records this year, but nothing has wowed me with the packaging, and if there's nothing cool to look at inside, I need money for other things.

I still go to the music shops, but that's mainly because I get a nice feeling from flipping through records.

It's so easy, download music to PC then on to moby (cell) and save to cloud. All your music at your fingertips wherever you may be. But, for some reason I decided to buy the CD version of BBC sessions. What would I have missed if I'd downloaded? One awesome insert by Steve Lamacq detailing each session, and some very surprising and hilarious antics that took place. Now a very important historical record of the band., as part of my treasured possessions.
