I don't know if this rates as 'Spinal Tap', but Billie Joe Armstrong split the crotch of his jeans at one show. We were doing a huge outdoor festival and there was no quick change booth, so Billie came over to our guitar world and while a couple of us held towels up, the wardrobe girl helped change his sweaty pants in about a minute, it's was like a NASCAR pit stop!!” 9

Guest
Well aren't we all jealous of the costume girl LOL. Seriously though, I always wondered how Billie does NOT split his pants doing those jumps some times LOL. That must have been embarrassing for him, but I am glad they got it fixed quickly! Billie used to do the splits during St Jimmy both live and at the musical too! 5

Popular Post That Dude
John Roecker seems angry with Green Day and the Hella Mega Tour in general. He asked if the concerts were requiring proof of vax or masks. He then asks "how much do these guys need?" The music industry is a dark place. it's not necessarily Billie Joe Armstrong's fault if the band is doing something. Nearly 100 percent of decisions are on the record label. But yeah. Hopefully it's not personal, just him venting. 5

They have employees. Bill, Greg, Chris, all of their techs... yeah, maybe the 3 of them don't "need" more $$ but it's also a business which employs others who rely on touring for their means. He seems rather bitter towards them.

Not only do they employ hundreds of people who depend on them and do need a livelihood but one look at this crowd and the bands’ faces and he’d realize it’s not about needing the money, it’s about needing music, live performance and togetherness again. That we desperately need, including these rich rock stars (who’ve gotten depressed like everyone else over the past two years)

Artists on labels have almost no control. We like to think Billie, Mike and Tre are designing the albums, making the track and set lists. making all these big decisions. Even writing about what is in their heart. But that isn't the case. Billie can't wake up one day, after September ends....and say that he'd like to make a folk-rap metal mix tape with 9000 tracks on it. Green Day is a company owned by the label. It's a business that was started by three guys but is now a corporation. Sounds cynical? That's just what popular music is. I love the music that is made this way, so it's NOT necessarily a negative thing. The corporate guys are bringing the music to the masses. Now the covid situation. Yeah, it sucks. Maybe Hella Mega should have been a bust. I don't know... 3

billy1986
Who cares what he thinks he made Heart Like a Hand Grenade and he seems full of himself. People (us I’m going to Hershey tomorrow with my buddy) can go to see a concert we know the risks. I’m vaccinated as is my friend so he is he to call out anyone? Look him up not the greatest person and kinda a prick so he shouldn’t throw stones in his glass house. Screw him I respect opinions but also who is he?
