This is quite interesting, I honestly don’t know if I would have recognised the song if I just heard this.

That’s so cool! I always say my favorite part of Basket Case are the drums. They are what I pay attention to every time they’re amazing. I feel that way about Father of All... too, I listen to the drums in it over anything else.

Great quality show just posted

Edit: I guess it’s out there it was just new to this account and new to me (or maybe it’s been so long I forgot I saw it I’m really confused right now lol. Enjoying it anyway 😜)

Edit 2: If you enjoy watching Billie play drums as much as I do, he does an awesome drum solo at 1:07

I always think Billie’s like “yeah, they’re letting me play drums again” he seems so happy, but that was particularly cool bit!

10 alt Kidz Bop covers from the 2000s that are so bad, they’re good

“Boulevard Of Broken Dreams” – Green Day

There’s something quite surreal and off-putting about listening to children take on a song that exposes the faults of the American dream. But then again, everything about Kidz Bop is a little surreal. For this cover, another unknown adult singer botched Green Day’s 2005 Record of the Year with a twangy voice and children’s obnoxious backup vocals. While the instrumental aspect of the cover is decent, this Kidz Bop cover drains the iconic rock anthem of all its intensity and gravity. It minimalizes Green Day’s somber comment on the idealized phenomenon of the American dream.

10 alternative covers that might be better than the original songs

Neck Deep – “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”

We hesitate to say that anyone can outperform Green Day on their legendary track “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams,” but Neck Deep pose some serious competition. The Welsh pop-punk outfit interpret the song with a distinctly modern twist, subbing the desolate air for something more upbeat. We challenge you to make it through this version without headbanging.

Poor Tre Cool, he looked so happy front and center only for it to end so quickly.

It's better than a lot of covers, but not the original.

My fake interview with Billie Joe is processing now.   I think it's pretty funny and The Ultimate Cringe.

I love this idea but the figures look horrible. They don't look anything like them. I honestly can't tell the difference between Billie and Tre LOL. And what kind of outfits are they wearing? It doesn't look like anything they ever wore LOL.

UPDATE: I stared at this some more and think I sorted out who is Billie and who is Tre. I guess these are supposed to be their looks and outfits from the Boulevard of Broken Dreams video, but they are really bad representations, but Tre's bowtie is in the wrong spot LOL.

Are there any Green Day Funkos? I have never found any. I do really like Legos, but like I said I don't really love these figures. Also I think the set may be reaching too much, trying to incorporate all things Green Day. I think it would work better if they made it have a single theme, like maybe just choose Boulevard of Broken Dreams. That would be like what Lego did with the Beatles' Yellow Submarine set, and that thing was really cool.

As far as I know there are no Green Day Pops, which is weird. How the fuck did 2/3rds of Blink get them before GD? Seriously?

That's kind of why I hate these things. When they started, it felt like they made figures for really prominent pop culture icons, like important movies, notable artists, big fandoms etc. Now, they'll do pops for any fucking thing. I stopped buying them awhile ago, but a Green Day set would totally sucker me back in.

Blame Warner, not Funko. They announced their intent to release GD Pops in 2016 subject to licensing as always. Warner for some reason refuses to grant the license for any of its artists to Funko. Maybe Warner wanted them to take a bundle of artists and Funko said no, idk. But that’s the kind of thing the broadcasting giants do to cable companies to carry their channels. You have to take a lot of minor crap channels too that make you no money. So whatever happened, they failed to strike a deal.
