least it's not as bad as when paramore seemed to be the only band for about 6 years until they split up or whatever happened to them.

"hayley williams tied her shoes!!11' they were getting a little hello! magazine at that point aha.

my friend used to go on massive rants about kerrang and how they never featured older bands, the particular issue that week had a whole bit about Rush in it :P

but yay biffy mentioned green day <3

kerrang need to calm down with their gd obsession

I think this is good though! Kerrang is the only thing that's keeping Green Day "alive" at the moment, we shouldn't complain! :D

It wouldn't be so bad if they had actual news to report. Most of their stories are "Billie bought new shoes!!" or "Mike said his favorite movie is Toy Story!" and they try to make a one-two page article about it.

Not the first time they've talked about Green Day and the Trilogy with regards to Opposites :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr5eUj6nlpg

If you're not arsed watch it:

Interviewer: You've now done a double album, were you annoyed when Green Day beat you with a triple album?

James: (laughing) Yes we were.

Simon: We thought "Yes, we're doing it old school" y'know, and yeah, Green Day came out with three which is hard to beat. I mean, I think it's an extremely brave move, to try and release three records.

They also talked about Green Day in an interview with Kerrang before Reading/Leeds.

That's true. I wouldn't buy those anyway. But still cool that they keep being mentioned, or posters are included etc.

Anyone watch Pointless on BBC1 on Saturday? There was a Green Day Question and it was WRONG!

Yeah, it's a slow news day.

Why is Lady Gaga on the front page?

Because she took a ride on Billie Joe's disco stick.

PLOT TWIST: Nightlife is actually about Lady Gaga.

Which one? I saw the one where Nimrod, 39/Smooth and 21st Century Breakdown were the pointless answers. What was wrong about it?

I haven't heard that song for 4 years. Thanks for suddenly re-emerging it in my mind.

If she is referring to the one I watched, the contestants had to name any studio album. It was in the final round, but they didn't answer them.

By the way, does anyone remember about 6 or 7 years ago when Green Day was a specialist category on Junior Mastermind?

I love Pointless too!! And I think either Richard Osman or one of the researchers must be a Green Day fan because they've had quite a few GD questions. Just last week I was thinking that my dream Pointless question would be obscure Green Day albums and I was squealing because that exact question came up, although the contestants didn't choose that category. However, Richard went through the pointless answers and one was Nimrod (which I would have said) and the other one he said was 39 Smooth and not 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, so you can imagine how my excited squealing turned into screaming indignant rage, much to hubbie's weary, indifferent incredulity (he hates Pointless and Green Day and he's a bit fed up with me).

Well this has to be the most (pointless) boring post ever.

By the way, does anyone know why I can't "like" posts? I'm getting a message that says something like "there is a problem with your reputation vote", what does that mean?

That's the only Green Day question I've seen on there, but I've not been watching for that long. Technically 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours is a compilation, not a studio album, which is why it isn't a correct answer. :)

Oh yes, but it was a correct answer, they just called it by the wrong name. 39 Smooth was the answer they gave but it was an EP wasn't it? I am being pedantic!

I remember! It was great. And since then every time the proper one's on I hope someone will have Green Day as a category.

Thanks for elaborating, wish I'd seen it! They were actually right calling it 39 Smooth, that was their first album. Then later they released 1039 Smoothed out Slappy Hours, which is a compilation of the 39 Smooth album, the 1000 Hours EP and the Slappy EP. Billie's ranted about that a few times so he'd be pleased they called it that

Not sure about your last question, I'll ask in the mod forum and get back to you. For future reference if you have any problems with/questions about the site you should ask in GDC Help :)

I don't know if that's pedantic, if they're gonna ask a question the answer should be right!

And, would love Richard Osman to wrong once in a while :).

Me too. He's such a smug git sat there with Wikipedia up in front of him.

Fair enough then, I only have the 1,039... album which has the sticker "Green Day's first album" on it. Good job I didn't rant at him in an email then!! My bad, but I do like to know the technicalities!

Thanks for the GDC help tip, I was looking for somewhere to ask.

Apparently 39/Smooth was an album - I looked it up on Wikipedia.

And leave Richard Osman alone - he's cool. I wanna be like him when I grow up.
