"We'd love to make a triple album, but I think Green Day have fucked any rock and roll band from making a triple album" :P

Kerrang put out a list of "top 10 superbands", and as a bonus, they put together a superband they'd love to put together:

Vocals: Gerard Way

Guitar: Billie Joe

2nd Guitar: Lzzy Hale (from Halestorm)

Bass: Mark Hoppus

Drums: Joey Jordison (from Slipknot)

^^^ No, no, no, no and no. I think Billie and Mark, yes. But everyone else...no. I like Joey Jordison, but he doesn't fit in with the vibe of those guys.

Sounds more like "The Average Kerrang Cover" :P

...because it's made up of members from hugely successful bands?

I know what is a superband! But that band has nothing of super (Well, at least for me)

Mark Hoppus? Just... no. Fantastic singer but he's hardly what one would call a good bassist. The thought of him being in a band with a drummer as good as Joey Jordison is hilarious. That said, the thought of him being in a band with a drummer as good as Travis Barker is pretty interesting...

He's not exactly bad at all. You've got songs like Carousel, Man Overboard, and Mutt that really showcase his skills. He also writes a huge amount of Blink's material, including most of their best stuff.

Also Joey Jordison is overrated to fuck, much like Barker :P

Well yeah, true. He's a good songwriter and an ace singer, and the bass does what it needs to do. I just don't understand how he's meant to be a bassist or a 'dream band' when there are plenty similar people who are far better.

You're forgetting Kerrang :P

Maybe it's my inability to interpret the Irish(?)Scottish(?) accent, but I can't tell if he meant that in a "We'd never be able to top that" way or a "That ended badly for them... no one else will be stupid enough to try it again" way

Scottish ;)

I think it's a combination of the second one plus the fact that they couldn't do it now without inevitable comparisons to Green Day. I can safely say it's not the first

All said though, Biffy just released a double album (22 tracks), and have already released another album's worth of b-sides (15 so far) with at least one more single to be released from that album. Plus they've also released a 5 track acoustic EP. They've already far outstripped Green Day's 3 albums :P

I couldn't tell either - love these guys - they seem very humble. Can't wait for Soundwave & hopefully a sideshow :)

Again Green Day is featured in this week's Kerrang!

We should have a thread to post only Kerrang covers

If you never read anything other than Kerrang you could be forgiven for thinking that there are only 10 bands in existence at any one time :P

They called them "classics." Really?

Yeah...even I was surprised by it..

I was like,"am I dreaming? Pinch me hard"

So they've now been shoehorned into Kerrang for, what, 3000 weeks in a row?
