THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESSCOMINGS & GOINGS

https://soaps.sheknows.com/the-young-and-the-restless/comings-and-goings/559407/green-days-billie-joe-armstrong-teases-possible-young-and-restless-appearance/

The lead singer of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, shared a video of a Young and Restless scene with Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) taped while watching TV several days ago. In the clip, Armstrong can be heard saying, “I want to be on a soap opera so bad.” In the comment section, Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) posted in all caps, “This is my show I am on it please come back and visit for the love of God *deep inhaling but not in a creepy way*.” So had he visited or was he just watching the scene on TV and pining? Well, a new post appeared yesterday on Armstrong’s account, a photo taken on the Young and Restless set behind-the-scenes. It certainly looks like the singer of hits such as Good Riddance and Holiday had his wish come true. Soaps.com will keep readers updated as to any confirmed appearance in Genoa City.

Since the full interview is over 11 minutes and there’s a lot of fun stuff in it I made a thread for it:

I might have missed it. I was listening to Tre's radio thing.

Whoa. Being a Green Day fan is basically a full time job. So much going on!  St. Louis. Is this new or a repeat?

Just got my issue of Guitar Player with Billie and it's the exact same photo as the Total Guitar one. The TG one is zoomed out. Lame 👎🏼

Welcome back 🙂 Do you have any info into how the US tour dates are selling? Is it going as expected, better or worse?

Hard to say. In all honesty, it’s doing better than I thought it would at this point. I think it will be a near sell out in most major cities.  Hard to tell. The pit sold out immediately. There aren’t many groups of 4. Fairly indicative of where it would be for the price of the tickets. With the Harley promotion, I wish they brought the tickets price down or it would be selling quicker but it’s doing well.

"There's no rules" – Green Day, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Taylor Swift producer and solo artist shares his studio knowledge

Quote

“People get bummed at me a lot of times because I’m not a big fan of stacking. I did it back in the day, years ago in the 90s it was a big thing to double and quadruple your guitar parts. I think people go in phases of how they do it. Like four guitars doing the same thing and panned in stereo.

Even doing the new Green Day record, Billie was used to quadrupling guitars, but I’ve noticed that a lot of mixers will get the four tracks and only use two of them in the mix. If they’re placed right, EQ’d right and set right in the mix, they can sound as big or bigger.

Article here about Ed Sheeran fangirling over meeting GD:

Ed Sheeran 'fan-girled' over Green Day

Ed Sheeran "fan-girled out" when he met his idols Green Day

Ed Sheeran "fan-girled out" when he met Green Day.

The 'Castle on the Hill' hitmaker has previously spoken of his love of the 'American Idiot' rockers and their frontman Billie Joe Armstrong remembered that Ed didn't play it cool when he came face-to-face with them.

Billie Joe laughed: "He fan-girled out pretty good."

Billie Eilish has also expressed her admiration for the punk group and the 47-year-old singer is also a fan of her music.

He told Q magazine: "When I saw her live, it was this beautiful moment where all these kids – all these young women – were singing along to these dark bedroom anthems.

"It felt like kids were singing soccer anthems, but it was really dark. All that stuff is universal."

And the 'Basket Case' hitmaker can see Green Day's influence on a number of modern hip-hop artists.

He said: "Post Malone, Tyla Yaweh – a lot of it is really internal and insecure with its feelings.

"It's very emo. Like, 'F**k, this sounds like 'Basket Case'.' "

The 1975's Matty Healy credits the group – which also includes Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool – for making him want to be a musician.

He said: "I was in Green Day for five minutes.

"You know when they pull kids out of the crowd to play onstage? They did that with me in Newcastle.

"I played the bass. Changed my life.

"It was a realisation of that punk idea but that was at that point filling arenas. I was like, 'F**k, you can actually do this s**t.' "
