There's a lot more fun with some of the fucking idiots :ga:

Yeah, especially when we could assume it anyway because they sure want the Trump album out before he's out of office. :P

To be clear, I was calling myself a fucking idiot on that one. ;)

I'm really puzzled as to why they didn't play Japan yet. They've toured Japan for every album since Insomniac, I was certain they would for RevRad too. Oh well.

Agree.  Would not count it out though.

He talks about it here at 2.20, sounds pretty genuine/certain : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyBq1p4H7BM. I agree you'd think they would've announced something by now but surely it's not too late?

@LaughingClock that's some analysis, I enjoyed that!

Cheers for that and yeah, it's not too late for an Asian leg of the tour post November.  They could announce it in fall and have an onsale shortly after for a mid-late spring mini leg of Asia.  Still very possible ALTHOUGH I AM JUST GUESSING.

Yeah, me too but I have to disagree with the low DB intros. It still gets me every time.  You can just hear Billie saying "Ok, we need these fuckers to listen this loud.  Let's start it at Xdb and blow them away with the real Ydb. Bang Bang is a great example of it.  One of the best.  Every single time I listen to the song, I get a blast on the riff.

Some people incorrectly chalk that to bad production but in reality, it's Billie doing what the fuck he wants.  Sure, I would love an over-produced album as well.  I love Caallo and Vig.  Frankly, I would love for them to get Rubin in the studio as people have said many many times, but I would also LOVE to see Rob back in there or I would be happy if they did it themselves again.

Moment of honest, when I first heard RevRad, I didn't love it as much as I do now.  I liked it and thought for some of the songs that they just dialed it in but then as I started to learn the songs, the lyrics, the breaks, the things that you grow to love it became my second favorite Green Day album. (I never call a Green Day album my favorite so calling it my second favorite means it's currently my favorite) because my favorite literally changes all the time.

Dude, I do agree with you. While it can be annoying/hurt a little when trying to listen on headphones, I don't think RevRad was *meant* for that -- I really think the objective was to do just as it shows on the album cover: blow your speakers rocking out to this. Play it loud and OUT loud and rock with your friends!

I'd love Rick Rubin to get a try with them now also. Love the ability of that man to work on projects from any style or genre.

And I am with you on the initial feelings of RevRad. I thought it was meh, a shell of their former selves. Very quickly, I realized "Wait, they actually *are* so much older now. This is them looking back on a life of rock, and somehow *still* rocking hard after so many years." It was kind of poetic how, initially, this die-hard fan wasn't feeling it. Then I got slapped sonically and realized they're the same brothers I grew up with, you know?

I agree so much with LaughingClock and DesensitizedBrat but don't want to fill the page quoting them!  First, thanks for the info, we get you are trying to share but protect sources too, I certainly am grateful for your insight.  I would be really surprised if they didn't tour Japan unless their financial problems make it difficult, are any other bands touring Japan these days?  Nobody I follow is that I know of.  Also, re Billie and his writing, I can't see him specifically referencing Trump, I don't think he would want to limit/date their material like that, nor give Trump the credit.  He has said this around the time of the election and I think he will stick with it.  I think he will always firmly feel like he belongs with the 99% regardless of his bank balance, it's just who he is and you can see how grounded he is in many ways I feel, long may it continue!  Lastly Revrad is awesome, I love it and I was listening to Insomniac today which I love but hadn't played for a while and I can see the progression in so much of their music, I love it, love it all :yay:

I actually stumbled across this on Facebook and I'm not sure if it was common knowledge already: It seems that Adeline records is dead. The website https://adelinerecords.net/ isn't available anymore and the social media accounts are gone also.

I thought they hadn't been  involved with Adeline records for awhile?

Pat Magnarella was running it.  Since he's no longer with Green Day, he might have shut it down for that reason.

Yeah he might have been maintaining it for financial management (it might have still been generating a small income) but it hadn't been a working concern for a while.

Good article

Quote

Husker Du were one of the band’s whose influence reached far beyond their record sales and mainstream popularity. As one of the pioneers of the American alternative-rock movement that peaked with Nirvana, the fact that the group’s songs have been covered in recent years by both the Foo Fighters and Green Day speaks to the scope and the lasting power of their influence.

Grant Hart, a rare drummer who is also a singer-songwriter, brought the high-powered band’s melodic leanings to the fore, helping to lead them out of the blistering hardcore of their early years into a fusion that was equally powerful but had more hooks. The group’s mid-1980s albums “Zen Arcade,” “New Day Rising,” “Flip Your Wig” and the swan song “Warehouse: Songs and Stories” contain most of their best and most influential work.
