* Nice Guys Finish Last

* Holiday

* American Idiot

* Walking Contradiction

The Go-Go’s Farewell Tour features two shows in the region

On their 2001 album “God Bless The Go-Go’s,” Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong contributed the song “Unforgiven.” “We knew Billie for a long time. He was a big fan,” Caffey commented

Following in the footsteps of “Green Day’s American Idiot,” Caffey said some big Broadway musical theater names are involved in creating a show about The Go-Go’s called “Head Over Heels,” scheduled to debut in a year and a half. She named Jeff Whitty, the Tony winner of Best Book of a Musical for “Avenue Q,” and Michael Mayer, who co-wrote “Green Day’s American Idiot” with Armstrong and won a Tony for Best Direction of a Musical for “Spring Awakening.”

Top 10 saddest music videos - Green Day at 8 with WMUWSE

Green Day bit starts at about 3:25.  I agree with this, I'll usually have a little cry when I watch the video.

If you’ve ever worn a studded belt or wallet chain, then Jonathan Weiner‘s edition of Frames will have you seething with jealousy – filled with a who’s who of punk rock, emo and beyond.

See some of the amazing artists that Jonathan has shot below along with the accompanying stories, while you can also see more of his impressive shots over on Instagram. We’ve got Dookie on repeat for the rest of the day:

Green Day: Working with these guys is fantastic. They are so pro, all you have to worry about is making sure you are ready to go when they arrive and they will create something great.

Sorry for the shit quality, they're just pics of my TV from my phone. From the new MTV Classic (formerly VH1 Classic). First one is featured in the title card/bumper for when the channel shows music videos (yes, it happens :lol: ) and the second pic is part of a commercial for the channel (which also, later in the ad, plays the "Take me away to paradise" portion of Longview):

Quiz! Complete The Green Day Lyrics

With a new Green Day single, 'Bang Bang', set to be released on August 11th, Billie Joe and the boys are back, back, back.

Amazingly, the group first formed 30 years ago in 1986, and in their three decades they've masterminded snot-nosed punk classics (1994's 'Dookie'), a state-of-the-nation concept album (2004's 'American Idiot'), a side project (The Foxboro Hot Tubs) a stage musical (2010's American Idiot) and an ambitious trio of albums (2012's '¡Uno!', '¡Dos!', and '¡Tré!'). Oh, and they also had a starring cameo in The Simpsons Movie.

15 '90s Song Lyrics You Sang All The Time (Even Though You Had No Idea What They Meant)

7. "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Green Day

Every high school student in the '90s and early '00s played this song as a sign off to their friends during senior year, Bustle noted that the song was actually about getting dumped.

Popular music and the loss of anger

“Every single era has had escapist music: In the 1950s, there was the pop that came after Little Richard,” says Billie Joe Armstrong, singer and songwriter of Green Day, arguably the last major rock band to turn fury and indignation into a top 10 album with 2004’s “American Idiot.”

"Music goes through these cycles, but this happens to be the longest cycle I remember without someone breaking through on a meaningful level."

“After the turbulent ’60s, you got ’70s schlock -- quiet and boring [music], lots of earth tones -- then punk came around. Music goes through these cycles, but this happens to be the longest cycle I remember without someone breaking through on a meaningful level; someone who really has something to say.”

“Ignoring it, that’s their statement,” says Armstrong, whose kids are now 18 and 21. “That’s their anger. You’re making me angry, so I’m turning my back on you. They’re done dealing with it all. They’re like, ‘I’m going to binge-watch zombies eating each other.’ ”

Adds Armstrong, “It’s come to the point where  artists are backed into a corner where there’s really no other place for them to go. You look at what’s happening with the news, and everything that’s going on in the world, and it’s kind of like ‘The Walking Dead.’ it’s coming right at you. You better write something about it.”

Interview on June 28, 2015 Show with Jason Freese of Green Day on TNN Radio in Laguna Beach, CA

starts with Green Day songs at 58:27 interview starts at 70:24 - interesting interview about the band touring.

I find it strange that they say "of Green Day" cuz he's not technically part of the band, he's a touring musician, and he's played for a lot of acts

Yeah but they did talk about his other work as well.  He would be most well known for GD though - I enjoyed the interview.

I like quizzes! I was also amused by the last one. The very high scores on most of them indicate it must be mostly Green Day fans doing it, which makes me feel sad about the lack of Redundant knowledge (the terrible At the Library scores were less surprising) :P
