In 2003, the label released an album to benefit animal rights group PETA, and a favorite project of Fat Mike’s were two Rock Against Bush albums in 2004 with non-label punk luminaries like Green Day and Bad Religion that opposed the re-election of George W. Bush. http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6663780/nofxs-fat-mike-celebrates-25-years-of-punk-rock-with-fat-wreck-chords

Reading & Leeds have been known to throw in the odd surprise set over the years - the most notable being Green Day's riotous 2012 appearance. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/feature/a663499/reading--leeds-2015-everything-you-need-to-know-about-this-years-event.html#~plDljjEE7dW4KJ

The 30 Best Xbox 360 Games of All Time 27. Rock Band 3: This was the generation of music instrument games, and Rock Band 3 was probably the height of the "fad." Though the addition of keyboard play was helpful, but the clincher was the vast amount of available songs, which included almost everything from Rock Band 1 and 2, Rock Band Green Day and uh, LEGO Rock Band. http://www.dorkly.com/post/75290/the-30-best-xbox-360-games-of-all-time

nashvillescene.com:  I mean, who needs to buy a ticket to a Green Day concert when they’re always playing live on that guy? I wish I was friends with him so I could go to a Green Day concert every day. Just bring a cooler of beer and look at his back http://www.nashvillescene.com/nashvillecream/archives/2015/08/18/chris-crofton-advice-king-google-shaming-playing-to-tracks-dave-grohl-tattoo

In-flight entertainment: when flying goes wrong for musicians

1. ‘I’m just trying to get to my fucking seat’
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was chucked off a plane for refusing to hoist up his sagging trousers, in September 2011. According to an ABC producer, who happened to be on the same flight, Armstrong responded with, “don’t you have better things to do than worry about that?” when challenged by the flight attendant. Apparently not. When he failed to comply, Armstrong was shown the exit. His angry tweets about the incident only add to its delightful absurdity.

Since when is Blink-182?

You'd be surprised if you saw how Czech media portrays them. It might be just my impression and it's not how world sees these two bands but I'd say that Blink gets more credit. Neigbourhoods is seen as a grown-up album of a former joke band and valued for being a move forward in their career. Therefore Green Day is seen as immature and wannabe leftist band for kids. I read reviews that were genuinely surprised Norah Jones chose Billie as an "equal partner" and he didn't fuck up.

Yeah, don't think it is the same here.  I can't see how anyone can think that American Idiot is immature?  Even, Warning and 21st CB.  I know my kids don't have a clue who Blink-182 are.  Don't get me wrong, Green Day has enough haters out there, but over here, I think Blink is just forgotten.

I think the situation is not much different here, but main newspapers here are right-wing and pro-Bush so go figure :D. I have never seen them being hated for their leftism outside this country.

Pity you hadn't come for a vacation - you would've seen that! Not only do we have beer and nice architecture but we also had a bunch of brown nosers for a government.

You hear the songs, you know their band names, but you might not have the whole background on where that name came from or how those hits were made. The history of rap group N.W.A has been made into a biopic, but what about The Spice Girls? Or Destiny's Child? Queen, Green Day, and most importantly... One Direction? http://www.hlntv.com/slideshow/2015/08/18/these-bands-need-movies-about-their-origins-straight-outta-compton

Watch The Hottest VMA Moments Ever

There are so many hot, stand-out male performances, it’s hard to keep track of them all. Chris Brown and Justin Bieber both sent their careers into high-gear after their VMA debuts, One Direction became our “One Thing,” Sam Smith hypnotized us with his voice, while Maroon 5 and Green Day set things on fire… literally. http://www.mtv.com/news/2244021/watch-hottest-vma-moments-beyonce-taylor-swift-justin-bieber/

As previously announced, the Atlantic season will also include Caryl Chuchill's Cloud Nine, These Paper Bullets!, written by Rolin Jones and featuring music by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong http://www.broadway.com/buzz/181817/kenneth-lonergans-hold-on-to-me-darling-will-receive-world-premiere-off-broadway/    http://www.newyorktheatreguide.com/news/nytg15/holdontomedarling557770.htm

How Well Do You Remember The Lyrics To “American Idiot” By Green Day?http://www.buzzfeed.com/ladyw/how-well-do-you-remember-the-lyrics-to-aamerican-1oir5#.uxKePxZM3z

Green Day: Guitars. Angst. Black eyeliner. The feelings you get when you hear the first few notes of "Good Riddance." All great things to make a film about. Also, the story behind the name http://www.hlntv.com/slideshow/2015/08/18/these-bands-need-movies-about-their-origins-straight-outta-compton

Christina Sajous has been seen on Broadway Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark and the original casts of Baby, It's You!, Holler If Ya Hear Meand Green Day's American Idiot (including an appearance on the Grammys) http://www.broadwayworld.com/boston/article/Paulini-and-Sajous-SAJOUS-SO-FAR-Continues-Performances-on-Cape-Cod-20150818

The Summer Sonic was organized in 2000 for the first time. Even then, the focus of the invited musicians lay on rock and alternative music. With well-known Japanese artists and international bands like Green Day, Muse and Coldplay it made in the first year of excitement. Since then it has risen only further in its importance. http://german.cri.cn/3105/2015/08/19/1s239039.htm

So they're on a new record label? Reprise must've let them go?

So they're on a new record label? Reprise must've let them go?

SESAC is not a record label.  It is an organization that is designed to ensure that artists get compensated when their music is played in public.  For example, the Oakland A's just had Green Day fireworks.  They would have to go through SESAC to license the use of the songs.

They are still on Reprise Records.

SESAC, Inc is a performing rights organization with headquarters in Nashville and offices in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami and London.

Performing rights organizations (there are three in the US) are business designed to represent songwriters and publishers and their right to be compensated for having their music performed in public.

“We are thrilled to be signed to SESAC and excited to partner with them for the next phase of our musical adventure,” the band said in a statement.
