Green Day mentioned in this article:

"It's interesting because we're not in this esteemed class. I know it because we inducted Green Day into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they're up there alongside The Rolling Stones, Coldplay, and Foo Fighters. So that's this upper tier, and then there's young, up-and-coming bands, and I think we're kind of in the middle somewhere".

Songs with secret meanings you did not know

5. "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day: everyone associates this song with a message about the war, but it has nothing to do. The song was written by Billy Joe for his father, who died 20 years before he left and whose death never exceeded.

Bohemian Rhapsody turns 40

The song’s potential as a stadium hit became obvious at a Green Day concert in London in June 2013. The PA played the song to the crowd as it waited for the band to come on stage; mass spontaneous karaoke ensued, and the subsequent Youtube video has since topped a couple of million.

According to Amy Heckerling, the director of Clueless, they’re hoping that the musical will have a real “jukebox” kind of feel, just like Green Day’s American Idiot.

Green day mentioned by Florence Welch here: http://exclaim.ca/music/article/exclaim_questionnaire-florence_welch_of_machine

What was the first LP/cassette/CD/eight track you ever bought with your own money?
I think it was Green Day's DookieUrlAdvisorGoodImage.png, on CD. I had a Coca-Cola CD player, which was my favourite thing in the whole world. I was super into American skate punk — like Green Day, Offspring, Blink-182. It was my first experience with more than just liking music. Like, a way of looking at the world, how you met who you fancied, the whole thing. Like, "Oh, music can claim me." And I loved that CD player.

So, I watched this terrible movie on Netflix called "Would You Rather" and the kid's bedroom had a poster of the American Idiot album cover. It was about the only saving grace of the film.

i thought that movie was great, it had Ricky from Trailer Park Boys, a porn star, and a Green Day reference what more could you ask for?

“American Idiot,” Green Day – Want your friends to pogo like idiots at your Indie Day party? Then crank this up. Heck, even the Broadway version would work.

In the spirit of "Satisfaction," here's a look back through the dawn of the rock era at some of the definitive songs capturing personal and social frustration.

2000s: "Jesus of Suburbia," Green Day. This epic, five-part pop-punk suite portrayed a restless teen, frustrated by a broken home life and hypocritical society, seeking to make his own personal kingdom out in the streets.

“I want you to slap me and call me naughty/Put a beltsander against my skin/I want to feel pain all over my body/Can't wait to be punished for my sins” - Dominated Love Slave – Green Day
This is what happens when you let a punk rock drummer sing a song. Tre Cool’s country ditty is an absolute filth-fest.

R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.! Musical Fireworks for 4th of July Fun

“American Idiot,” Green Day – Want your friends to pogo like idiots at your Indie Day party? Then crank this up. Heck, even the Broadway version would work.

Sweet Children is the third EP by the American punk rock band Green Day. It was released in August 1990 through Skene! Records. The name of the EP is the same as the original name of Green Day.

The EP is a collection of some of the band's earliest songs that they were still playing live at the time. It was recorded in 2 hours on July 5, 1990 at 6 ft Under in Minneapolis, Minnesota while the band were on a brief break from their summer tour,[2] and released on seven-inch vinyl. Due to a typo on Green Day's website, many believe that this record was released in 1987, but this is not true. The EP was released on Minneapolis-based indie label Skene! Records. These were the last recordings drummer John Kiffmeyer would contribute to the band. Shortly after the end of the tour, he left the band to attend college.

I read about this before. The article was focusing on successful men in general. Basically the bottom line was that they're psychopats and can't control their emotions.

7 more controversial live moments from late starts to meltdowns

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day

From late arrivals to on-stage meltdowns, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong made headlines three years ago.

The singer - who went into rehab after the incident - believed the group's set at that year's iHeart Music festival had been cut short and launched into a foul-mouthed rant.

He hit out, smashing his guitar and shouting he wasn't Justin Bieber before leaving the stage.
