AlissaGoesRAWR
Billie Joe is #16 on the list for Kerrang! Magazine's 50 Greatest Rockstars in the World What does "an all-nighter on Guinness" even mean? Why the fuck with they use that quote?
DookieLukie
What does "an all-nighter on Guinness" even mean? Why the fuck with they use that quote? An all nighter on Guinness is exactly what it sounds like: pulling an all nighter and drinking Guinness the whole time. AlissaGoesRAWR
An all nighter on Guinness is exactly what it sounds like: pulling an all nighter and drinking Guinness the whole time. But "on" Guinness? It's not like you're "on" alcohol, you're drinking it!
Anaïs.
But "on" Guinness? It's not like you're "on" alcohol, you're drinking it! You can say "I pulled an all-nighter on Monster" and such, though, so I think it still works.
AlissaGoesRAWR
You can say "I pulled an all-nighter on Monster" and such, though, so I think it still works. I guess it just sounded so awkward to me, but then again, this is Billie's grammar we're talking about. Regardless, the quote just seems like a terrible choice, especially considering all the recent publicity regarding his substance abuse.

desertrose
Billie Joe mentioned Post-“Gossip Girl,” Meester relocated to Los Angeles, married “The OC” actor Adam Brody, and returned to making movies, including the upcoming “Like Sunday, Like Rain” with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. “He is one of the nicest, most centered people I’ve ever met, and he plays my ex-boyfriend, who’s a sign of my immature past,” she says of her co-star, adding that they never once discussed songwriting on set. “We talked about acting instead, because he is quite good!” http://www.sfexaminer.com/sanfrancisco/leighton-meester-moves-back-to-music/Content?oid=2921911

desertrose
11 Misinterpreted '90s Songs With Lyrics That Totally Went Over Your Head As A Kid 9. Green Day, “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” What You Thought It Was About: The end of an era. Like high school. Or … high school (does anyone ever play this song for any occasion besides a high school graduation or the last episode of Seinfeld?) What It’s Actually About: Getting dumped. Explanation: Which is kind of an end of an era; but this song’s about a split more jarring than just drifting apart from your friends over the summer as you prepare to go to different colleges. Singer Billie Joe Armstrong wrote the song about his girlfriend, who left him to go live in Ecuador. As he told Guitar Legends Magazine in 2005, “I was trying not to be bitter, but I think it came out a little bitter anyway…” http://www.bustle.com/articles/67570-11-misinterpreted-90s-songs-with-lyrics-that-totally-went-over-your-head-as-a-kid

Theatergoers can see Green Day’s “American Idiot” and Tom Stoppard’s “Arcadia” this fall. In 2016, “Food and Fadwa,” a rave fable inspired by Euripides’ “Iphigenia at Aulis” and Henrik Ibsen’s “Lady from the Sea” will be performed. “American Idiot” Green Day’s powerhouse album is brought to life in this electric-rock musical of youthful disillusion at 8 p.m. Oct. 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 and 24 as well as 2 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25 at the Mabie Theatre.
