Pinhead Gunpowder are my favourite band no questions asked. Cometbus writes amazing lyrics. He is an awesome writer anyway so naturally this applies to his bands too but add Billie singing and playing guitar (yes and Jason, Sarah and Bill) and it really does become something of a supergroup. I'm always hoping that when Billie is in NYC he and Aaron might jam on some new material or even (shock of horrors) plan one of those once in a million years shows back in the east bay.

6 Alternative Rock Bands That Ruled The 90s

Hailing from America, Green Day was formed in 1987 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong as well as bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt. For much of their career, the band has been a trio with drummer Tré Cool but in 2012, guitarist and backing vocalist Jason White became a full member after playing in the band as a session and touring guitarist for 13 years. Cool replaced drummer John Kiffmeyer in 1990 before the recording of the band’s second album, “Kerplunk” (1992).

With 8 studio albums, 6 live albums, 3 compilation albums and 3 EPs, Green Day is one of the world’s best selling bands of all time, selling more than 75 million records worldwide. Having won 5 Grammy Awards, Green Day was nominated for the induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2014. Some of the band’s most popular hits include “21 Guns”, “Wake Me Up When September Ends”, “American Idiot”, and “Know Your Enemy”.

WHAT KIND OF AN AMATEUR WROTE THIS ARTICLE? They include RHCP and they don't make one single mention of one of the greatest composers in popular music of the last twenty five years, they DON'T EVEN INCLUDE A PHOTO FROM THE RELEVANT ERA.

An angry John Frusciante fan is about to go on a rampage...JUST FUCKING WATCH ME.

Worst celeb in-flight meltdowns

Billie Joe Armstrong: Fashion police now on board

Passenger suitability appears directly proportional to pant sag when flying on, again, Southwest Airlines.

Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong was kicked off a plane in 2011 for wearing pants that hung too low on his hips.

Armstrong tweeted on September 1, "Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low!"

The musician was on a Southwest Airlines flight from Oakland to Burbank -- is this the same flight that Silent Bob was kicked off of?

Southwest apologized to Armstrong, who really should be thankful he wasn't arrested.

Get In The RED ZONE: An Exclusive Interview With Vinnie Moore Of UFO/RED ZONE RIDER

KNAC.COM: How did you choose your drummer Scot Coogan?

MOORE: We choose Scotty because he kind of looks like Billie Joe Armstrong from GREEN DAY and we thought that it would really help us if people thought a mega star singer was playing drums for us.

I can see that there is a bit of similarity. If his face wasn't so chunky (sounds mean but that's the only word I could think of) and his hair was shorter, I think people could confuse them.

Liam's right, but don't worry Todd I think it's pretty clear you didn't mean any harm. Jump Salty is indeed awesome, especially MPLS Song.

I get emotional listening to the live versions with Jason singing Hey Now and Future Daydream. Hopefully one day a bootleg will surface of one of their earlier performances with Kirsch.

And if they were wearing rosed colored glasses while high and never having seen BJA before. Sure I can see the resemblance.

Six Pack: Autumn makes for memorable songs

6) 'Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day — OK, it's not the happiest of songs, dealing with lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong's father's death, but not all great songs are about puppies and rainbows. I used to walk around the house singing this song a lot in 2007 and 2008 when the Cubs were in the National League Central Division race. I haven't had to sing it lately at all.

So is Dave kind of saying that he thinks Green Day already rips off Oasis? He's usually pretty cool toward the band, but it sounds like he's saying they already play Oasis songs.

The article is confusing, but it is not Dave Grohl that is saying Green Day (and the Foo Fighters and Radiohead) should play Oasis songs, its Noel Gallagher. Noel is saying that they should play Oasis songs because it will make for a better show. I had to read it a few times to get that.

OK, so Dave said nothing about Green Day  And I ignore everything that Oasis says about Green Day, so I am now completely uninterested
