I still maintain that Foreverly is utter shite. "Let's cover a bunch of 60 year old songs and do absolutely nothing new or original with them". Even Michael Bublé is better than that.

What does age matter? If it sounds good, it's good. And Foreverly sounds bloody good.

7 Indie Bands Who Had Incredible Major Label Debuts: Green Day, Modest Mouse and More

5. Green Day - Dookie (1994)

Like Nirvana, Green Day also improved once it moved over to a major label, even delivering its best album Dookie as its major label debut. Though Dookie isn't significantly different from the band's first two albums, it did continue the upward trend in singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong's songwriting.

8 Classic Albums That End With Acoustic Songs: Green Day, Weezer, And More

6. Green Day - Dookie (1994)

Dookie's closing track "F.O.D." is actually two songs in one, with an acoustic hidden song called "All By Myself," written and performed by drummer Tré Cool, taking up the last minute-and-a-half of the track.

8 Game-Changing Guyliner Moments in Pop Culture History

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day (1990s to Present)

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong's look is like one part Sid Vicious (the hair and the leather) and one part Robert Smith (the mega-guyliner). He's been punk rocking since the late '80s and has changed his hair (a tad) here and there, but even at age 42, he's still proudly drawing on the guyliner.

Playlist: Make Bonfire Night Go Out With a Bang

Green Day – ‘American Idiot’

Arguably the most famous anti-Bush America song of the 21st century and certainly the most recognisable to our generation, Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ was essential listening for any teenager in 2004. It perfectly captured the Western world’s dissatisfaction with the Iraqi War while never exploring too heavily the political intricacies alien to us at such a young age. Billie Joe Armstrong never lays claim to knowing the answers to America’s dramatic unravelling of patriotism, but he sure poses all the right questions. ‘Can you hear the sound of hysteria?’ Absolutely we could. ?

The Big Names in Booking Bands for Television Share Their Secrets

Talk about a nail-biting moment that took place when you were close to air or actually on the air?

Escobedo: Growing up, I was a big fan of Green Day. So when they came to the show, it was a surreal moment. Green Day initially wasn't interested in doing the morning show, so that was years and years of asking. And when they finally showed up, the crowd was singing over Billie Joe Armstrong's vocals. We were in Central Park, where you can only go up to a certain decibel level, and the police said, "Sorry, we have these rules." And then Billie Joe said, "Well, I'm not coming out until you fix it." So it became a balancing act: Do you have a riot because the concert is canceled, or do you make an adjustment? The police decided to make the adjustment, and we had our first mosh pit.

This is kind of going back a bit but I would fucking love if Billie and Fred Armisen did something together. Fred is hilarious and a great musician.

Can't decide if Billie was being a diva or just sticking to his principles

I've had enough side project shit from Billie the past few years. I'd prefer it if he just stuck to FBHT, PHGP, and Green Day. Foreverly sucked, I Run NY was ok, Avicii sucked, the Miranda Lambert thing was ok, and the Joan Jett thing sucked. And that thing that he and Joey did with that one dude sucked too.
Can't be bothered to comment on the rest, but what?! Their voices went together really well and their performance was flawless.

I'd love more Pinhead Gunpowder, I'm getting hooked on them
I would also love this, it's been too long

I'm going with diva

I have to admit, I didn't quite understand what happened. Did they go out and no one could hear him because of the decibel level rules in Central Park?? Was the crowd singing with him or against him? I found that snippet confusing. Diva is the most likely explanation, but it confused me.i

I say sticking to his principles - isn't it talking about noise restrictions in a suburban area. Here we have it for stadium tours & the concert must be over by a certain time as well.

I've been listening to a lot of Pinhead lately- one of my favorite parts of being a Green Day lifer is the privilege of randomly dusting off the "old stuff" and listening to it like it's new again. I hadn't listened to Pinhead in years and right now it's a solid 75% of what I listen to. One of my biggest regrets in life was meeting Jason and having a good five minute conversation with him (incredible guy and incredibly gracious for him spending the time to just chat about music)- and not mentioning or complimenting his on his work with Pinhead once. Not a terrible "worst regret" I know, but I wish I could have let him know how much I treasure the Pinhead catalogue. What an incredible catalogue Pinhead compiled in such a short period of time, and as a side band nonetheless.

:fuckyou: Was Mike when she recorded the songs though. Did I do that wrong? Name changes don't affect the past, right?

They do affect your past. She preferred to be called Sarah so she should be referred to Sarah, even before that became her name.

Okay, that's different than what I'm used to dealing with. Like when Green Day played the War Memorial in 95, which is now called the Blue Cross Arena, you'd still refer to the venue with its name as it was in 95 when you're talking about the past, if that makes any sense

The only difference is we're talking about a real person and not a place.

Liam's right, but don't worry Todd I think it's pretty clear you didn't mean any harm. Jump Salty is indeed awesome, especially MPLS Song.
