My favorite is when Republicans say, "The KKK was started by Democrats!" If you study history you know at a certain point the Democrats and Republicans essentially switched ideologies and are pretty much the opposite of what they started out as.

"Billie Joe Armstrong born in Oakland CA in 1972, well that explains it all. What a foolish waist of a life.Just gonna leave that one here.

Some person with Deplorable in their name posted an article to my Green Day Mind twitter about Robert Byrd last night and how he used to be in the KKK. I wrote back, "Hey, how about: Fuck You" and I haven't heard back from them. I feel rage when they put forth this stupid ass argument. I mean seriously. Makes my blood boil.

What's funny to me is that Ariana Grande and her dance crew were practically having sex on stage and that was ok, but they muted out "give me death or give me head" during Bang Bang, hypocritical much? LOL

Surprised this hasn't helped the sales of "Bang Bang" on iTunes.

Actually I'm not - looking at all those (thousands altogether probably) hate comments on the internet towards the band...

Maybe not the song, but the album has been climbing on the itunes charts all day.

I loved that chant but changing "soldiers" to "Folgers" was an odd choice.

HAHA

I'd be dead but I'm too dumb to.   ;)

They need to flesh out the chant and make a chilling political single.   Could be cool.

Can anyone guess what he sings instead of "soldiers" in the first line of the bridge right after that glorious chant? Is it "I wanna be like the voters on the screen"? :lol:

Folgers in your cup.

NO KKK

i think, if anything, it's definitely intrigued people as to what revrad may be sounding like. which is possibly why it can been climbing the itunes chart.

The fact that so many of these people think green day is "pandering to progressives" is hilarious. They've made it known for a long time this is how they feel and they're standing up for what they believe in.

They talked about green days performance in this and i almost vomited lol how do these clowns do this for a living. It starts at 47:58

EDIT: Its on youtube now!!

Who gives a sh*t what Fox thinks! They are so damn biased it's not even funny! They only see things their way and all the conservative, Republican sheep believe everything they say; even if it's all lies or made up.

What willl fuck your country up is having him as president. The faster you manage to get rid of him the less your country will be fucked up. How could anyone want an administration of white supremacists to "succeed"? What would that even look like? Individual gestures like this one, Grimes and Death Cab's might not do a lot by on their own but now is the time to inspire anger and musicians have traditionally been quite good at that.

I heard Death Cab's song, but what did Claire do/say?

I'm actually laughing at this one;

"I saw a clip of their performance ... and lets just since its not pretty ... if I were them I would keep my mouth shut. They are going to need every fan they can dig up."

"Nope. F them and their "music." I will never support anti-American commie idiots without a single complete brain to share among the lot of them. I'll stick to Mozart, thanks."

This is hilarious.

-> Complains about anti-American musicians

-> Cites non-American musicians as the pinnacle of musicianship

I don't believe the story that ABC and/or the AMAs didn't know about this. TMZ is well-known for being the place for big media outlets and/or publicists to plant positive stories and save face. The way ABC and the AMAs were hyping this in those blog posts and tweets, idt they would do that just for a little bit of pyro. The ratings for the whole show were terrible but this performance has gotten traction anyway so they're trying to make a controversy (and save face with outraged people) to keep people talking about it and make it seem like rogue musicians.

Good news and bad news.

Bad news: It was the type of show I didn't mind holding up my phone most of the time for.

Good News: Fuckin A! Mini unexpected fucking Green Day show!

P.S. - and holy shit the Nows are so good live, always!

Wrong thread? :lol:

This has been the first time they've made a statement about the outcome of the election on their own terms. As a band on TV/radio or mainstream media in general. You can hardly blame them for interviewers flooding them with political questions, and I don't see why they shouldn't get to make their statements they way they want to instead of settling for it being via third parties. You have every option to not pay attention and just listen to the music if it's irritating you that much. I disagree that they should take a seat and not use their platform to broadcast how they're feeling. (Also apologies for posting twice previously, my phone has a mind of its own)

Look, all I'm saying is that it has gotten a bit annoying. I know that it's very easy to not be that annoying to you because you agree with the stuff they are saying when I only agree with maybe 20% of it. I'm sorry, I just don't get a hard on every time Billie Joe says something anti Trump.

Maybe not so much musically, but ideals-wise and in their lyrics they've certainly remained punk (and that's what we're talking about here, what they've been saying not the way the music sounds). All of those albums other than the trilogy include strong social/political commentary. There are many acts that make music that's good for escapism, Green Day has never been one of them and with them coming from a scene where addressing social and political issues is paramount I don't know why they'd be expected to be.

So by this logic Guns N' Roses are punk. Pearl Jam are punk. Rush is punk. Van Halen is punk. If being punk is about being "anti establishment" then every band in existence has been punk. Green Day aren't by any means anti establishment. They are for every popular social trend that has existed in the past 15 years. Do you know who is anti establishment? The Sex Pistols and the Dead Kennedys. Green Day was punk pre warning. Now they are are a rock band with punk rock influences and pop culture conformist ideals.

:confused: I am just saying you can enjoy the art and not engage so much with the artist. I like Woody Allen films, doesn't mean I think he's a stand up guy marrying his daughter or whatever the heck happened with that mess. I understand why it's tiresome, but it's kind of like someone sitting down to watch the Super Bowl and then going on a rant about how much they hate football. Why on earth did you engage with it in the first place if you haven't the time or patience for it? :huh: Or even people who endlessly complain about having to hear about Game of Thrones when they don't watch it themselves, refusing to acknowledge they have chosen to insert themselves into online spaces that are very well known for being full of GoT fans/disccusion.
