Thanks to @Rumpelstiltskin2000 I've finally got the Glasgow and Lyon patches!! I rarely buy merch anymore but these are really nice souvenirs. Between scalpers and fans hoarding them I never thought I'd get them.4 points

Buzzing again, playing video games and listening to Saviors and I got a random nitpick with the song father to a son. In the line “I’ve made a few mistakes, but I’ll never break your heart”, I’ve always noticed the word “heart” sounds like it’s been stitched together. Idk if it’s 2 takes or auto tune. But that is all folks. (I know they’ve used pitch correction multiple times here and in the past but this part sticks out every time) I love this album still btw and it’s great to revisit it. I just watched these guys share their thoughts on it. They’re pretty funny! P.S. Fancy Sauce is still one of the main songs I find being stuck in my head at work and is one of my top 5 of the album for sure.3 points

Thought it was really cool that MCA from the Beastie Boys showed up. He liked the show. But that show got kinda out of hand because kids were jumping off this balcony that was as high as this roof onto the crowd. I don't mind stage diving, just as long as people are courteous of others. If there's 5 or 10 people standing around and they're not packed together and a guy just jumps on them and lands all of his weight on one guy's neck, that's wrong, or a girl's neck for that matter. I would say 60/40 the girls have taken the bulk of the landings on this tour. It's pretty brutal. Like 5" tall, 20 lb girls in the front catching these 200 lb dudes jumping out. And this guy who was jumping off the top was like 180 lbs. He jumped off twice and the second time he jumped off he knocked himself out. He was out cold. He was literally passed out. Everybody got out of the way, he hit the ground and they had to drag him outside. It was like, you're an idiot. ...If there's a fight, if something like that happens we stop. Actually we stopped when they found him. Because the guy was an idiot. I mean, you shouldn't jump from that high. And this crowd was spaced out too. It wasn't like completely packed.' – Mike Dirnt --------------------------- 3 April 2025 On this day 8 years ago (3 April 2017), Green Day played the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos on the GDA Tumblr 12 years ago (3 April 2013), Green Day played the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA on the 99 Revolutions Tour. This was also an amazing show It wasn't a cold day, but the street where we had to queue was like a wind tunnel. Someone bought an overpriced university blanket and we kept huddling together underneath it. I was insistent that I was fine despite being concussed from Pittsburgh but everyone kept telling me I did NOT look fine. I probably wasn't, but I didn't care. A guy cosplaying Santa sang Know Your Enemy. In Holiday, Billie forgot the lyrics and put us in a 'trance' to repeat 'Billie Joe did not forget the lyrics to Holiday tonight.' I have a vivid memory of him waving an inflatable banana around. Stay the Night, Oh Love and Brutal Love were highlights. Fancy Sauce it's my absolute favorite from Saviors It doesn't get the love it deserves, in my opinion2 points

For me, it has to be 21 Century Breakdown. The 21st Century Breakdown World Tour is Green Day's absolute peak in my opinion, and I love the entire era's look so much. (Also a lot of nostalgia for that era so I'm completely biased)1 point

Amazing amazing amazing. This is the best performance of basket case in all of the history of our good men. God bless and goodnight (I’m a bit drunk. Man did this video hit.) also, at 15:36, Travis barker talks so highly of a bass Mike gave him during the pop disaster tour. Hearing him talk about how he uses it for basically everything besides Blink is really endearing.1 point

On this day 12 years ago (31 March 2013), Green Day played the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA on the 99 Revolutions Tour. Well, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to and it also gave me one of my best Green Day stories. I went to a few American shows on the 99 Revolutions Tour – Rosemont, this one and Philly. A girl sang Longview and when it was time for her to stage dive, Billie gestured for the crowd to put their hands up to catch her, but noticed that I was in the firing line and told me to cover my face. The venue security pulled my hands away and told me to put them up. Should have done what Billie said. The girl jumped awkwardly and landed boots-down on my face. There was blood everywhere, my glasses were broken, and security were fussing around me with ice and water. At first I thought I was fine and the staff were overreacting. Billie and I exchanged thumbs-up and the band started Basket Case. The next thing I knew, I thought I was in my bed at home, dreaming about seeing Green Day in Pittsburgh. I woke up in the first aid area with blood still gushing from my nose. A paramedic asked how I felt. I said I was disappointed I’d lost my barrier spot and asked if I could go back into the pit. She laughed and said that was what the last person said, but no, I was not going anywhere. I watched the rest of the show from the first aid box in a daze. Once the show ended, Eddie (the band’s head of security at the time and one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met) approached me with something and said, ‘Mike wanted me to give you this.’ It was the jacket he’d been wearing for the last few shows. Tre had also passed on a drumstick. I exclaimed, ‘really?!’ Eddie laughed and replied, ‘yes, really.’ I thanked Mike for the jacket on Instagram later and he replied, ‘you gals looked like you were having so much fun! Glad they got you my jacket! XX’ Everyone has always said they’re sorry I got knocked out but there’s no need to be. It was hilarious! I might have been gutted if the concussion had stopped me going to the next show, but I didn’t even consider it – the resilience of an 18 year-old determined to see their favourite band is quite something 😂 I even hammered the glasses back into shape and wore them for another year. The scar lasted a while but it’s gone now. 23 years ago (31 March 2002), Green Day played the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. 27 years ago (31 March 1998), Green Day played a second night at the UNSW Roundhouse in Sydney, Australia on the Nimrod Tour.1 point

On this day 8 years ago (30 March 2017), Green Day played the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI on the Revolution Radio Tour. Someone gave that jacket to Billie. He had his own made afterwards and wore it for Still Breathing and Forever Now for the rest of the tour. This was one of my favourite shows ever. I actually still have a clear memory of Forever Now and how I had both arms in the air, screaming at the top of my lungs and jumping until I couldn't breathe. Made some good memories at those arenas in the middle of nowhere. 'Green Day, March 1994. I bought tickets well in advance. They were $4. The week before the show Longview blew up and was all over MTV. (Remember when they played videos?) The buzz and anticipation inside was at a fever pitch. You could tell they were on the verge of getting huge. Every song turned into a sing-along, even though it was clear that half the room only bought Dookie in the past month.' — Robert, fan 35 years ago (29 March 1990), Green Day played Marsugi's in San Jose, CA. 😂 No, it was a fresh shower gel kind of smell. I've heard lots of people saying Billie smells unwashed but he didn't.1 point

I’m obviously biased: I became a fan toward the end of the AI Tour. The 21CB era was the first one I actively followed (including here on the forum – I signed up in 2008). The hype in 2008/2009 was immense, and this forum played a big role in that. The sound, the voice, the songs, the album – 2009/2010 was the peak of their creative output, truly on top of their game. I remember losing it when I first heard the 21CB song demo in 2008 – I had it on repeat for days! When I think about the live concerts in 2009 and the summer of 2010 that I had the privilege to witness, it brings tears to my eyes because those are such beautiful memories, and I’ll always be grateful for them.1 point

On this day 8 years ago (28 March 2017), Green Day played the State Farm Center in Champaign, IL on the Revolution Radio Tour. You know you're about to get an essay. It was my mum's birthday, so I'd bought her a VIP ticket. I had a peasant ticket so I went in later and managed to get a spot behind her, but the VIP next to her randomly said she was going to find her son, smiled and ushered me into her spot beside my mum. The venue staff member in front of us (Scott, I think) was lovely, albeit baffled and amused by the weirdos who flew from England just to see Green Day in Champaign. Against Me are one of my favourite bands so seeing them open for Green Day was incredible. I wasn't going crazy or anything when Billie asked for someone to Know Your Enemy, just holding up one hand, but he picked me. Scott smiled like a proud dad as he helped Arturo (one of Green Day's crew) haul me out. I promptly went the wrong way and fell over. Billie was like, 'YO!' I'd never experienced stage fright as a kid, but when I turned and saw 16,000 faces staring at me it was TERRIFYING. Billie was beaming and beckoning. I ran down the catwalk grinning like a creature from a horror movie despite the fear, and Billie gave me a warm, genuine hug that made me feel better. I was still kind of frozen, so he kept one hand on my back and the other on my hand holding the mic until I sang the 'gimme gimme revolution' part and the pyros went off. That was pretty cool. The photo above was taken just after that. I was terrified yet again when it was time to stage dive, but it was actually just fun, not scary at all. I made that collage back then. Sadly there's only that one professional photo of me onstage, but I look hideous in every fan photo and video, so maybe it's for the best 😂 People congratulated and high-fived me when I landed. Later, Billie picked one of my sweetest Green Day friends to play guitar for Knowledge. A guy who'd bought me a beer yelled 'that sure beats what you did' and I was just screaming, 'THAT'S MY FRIEND CAITLIN! She's amazing!' He was like, 'you actually know her?! No way!' On the way out, people kept excitedly running up to me and I thought they were going to ask what it was like in general, but no... they all asked what Billie smelled like. That was the last thing on my mind 😂 But the answer was pine. I saw Scott again and he hugged and congratulated me. Everyone was so nice. The next day I was watching videos in a stranger's tent in the snow in Wisconsin and trying not to cry. Good times. Some other photos: 12 years ago (28 March 2013), Green Day played the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL on the 99 Revolutions Tour. It was the first rescheduled arena show after Billie went to rehab and also the first time Bohemian Rhapsody was played before the show. I went to a few shows in the US in 2013, starting with this one. I went so insane when Stray Heart started that it made Billie laugh. Hearing that was obviously a highlight, but Stay the Night, X-Kid and Brutal Love were highlights too. If you want to watch a random video of X-Kid, this is a good one. Felt like my heart shattered when Billie's voice cracked because it was such an emotional performance. 27 years ago (28 March 1998), Green Day were on Recovery TV in Melbourne, Australia – that time when they ran off from the interview, snatched the house instruments to play The Grouch, and got thrown out afterwards. More pics: They also played the ANU Bar & Refectory in Canberra, Australia. 33 years ago (28 March 1992), Green Day played 924 Gilman Street.1 point

'About 40 minutes or so into Green Day's set, Billie Joe Armstrong begin what seemed to be an acoustic version of Boulevard Of Broken Dreams off what has become the band's seminal album, American Idiot. After the first verse, he paused before motioning to his band mates to come back onstage. 'Welcome back,' he said as they casually strolled on. Those comments could have easily referred to his return to the stage after battling his own personal demons after a much-publicized meltdown in Las Vegas last September sent the 41-year-old to rehab for several months. Back and refocused, the Berkeley-based rockers powered through two seamless hours of performance that lacked any of the controversy that plagued their previous show. Last night was all about the music and, to an extent, the singer's own redemption. Looking fit, trim and healthy, Armstrong was all smiles to the point where he couldn't contain them even if he tried. Outside of his good spirits, there also happened to be four other guys onstage who didn't seem bothered by the five-month layoff between. The band was in midtour form: crisp, relaxed and confident. Pomona was the site of the first of three small club dates on the band's march to Austin for South By Southwest. Usually small shows serve as warm-up dates for a group to find their groove, but last night was nothing of the sort. Know Your Enemy, the night's second song, set the tone for what was to come, when Armstrong pulled a young punk rocker from the crowd to finish the words to the song before encouraging the little guy to take a leap of faith into the crowd, which was met with huge cheers. When American Idiot propelled Green Day to heights they never could have imagined, some thought this would be the end of the punk-rock ethos they stood for. But this is a band that has rejected conventional wisdom over the years, doing things such as releasing three albums of new material in a four-month period, allowing for their signature record to become the inspiration for a successful Broadway musical, which is possibly the least punk-rock thing a band could do. Contrarily, the latter didn't deter the band's most rabid and fiercely dedicated group of supporters, then nothing will. Armstrong may have kept the between-song banter to a minimum, but that didn't hamper his enthusiasm. Screaming and prodding the crowd all night, the singer took the theatrics to another level when he pulled out a gigantic water gun reminiscent of those Supersoakers of the early '90s and a toilet-paper gun that you dreamed of shooting at your 10th-grade biology teacher's house. He would eventually outdo both of those weapons by snaring a T-shirt bazooka that you only see at sporting events, and yes, he did fire T-shirts into the crowd, probably to the chagrin of those who plunked down $30 to $35 to buy one in the lobby. Playing 2000 Light Years Away, a rarity from 1992's Kerplunk, Armstrong invited fans onstage. Playing the final bridge while riding atop one fan's shoulders, the singer victoriously basked in the moment, knowing how far he's come along with no longer carrying the burden of that embarrassing show that will serve as a footnote in the band's history.' — OC Weekly More photos: 20 years ago (10 March 2005), Green Day played the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia on the American Idiot Tour. 31 years ago (10 March 1994), Green Day played the Plus 5 Lounge in Davie, FL, on the Dookie Tour. -------------------------------------------------------- 11 March 2025 On this day 12 years ago (11 March 2013), Green Day played the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ on the 99 Revolutions Tour. I knew who Transition was, since her "boyfriend" was in it, but wondered if Green Day was like Earth Day and had something to do with recycling. They played for free to a group of about 100 in the Mary Ward Cantina at San Francisco State. I only remember One of My Lies from that first concert. They were awesome, excellent musicians with great songs, and they set the bar which no other bands who played at Mary Ward could meet. Again, not even close.' — Julie O.1 point

I got the pink Saviors tour football shirt! At the show it was £100 . I'd seen an allegedly signed one on Vinted for £400 lol, along with stuff like the £10 London patch for £75. So I thought getting it was out of the question. But I was looking at newly uploaded Green Day stuff as I often do and it was on there brand new for £50 and I couldn't resist. Totally gonna wear it to actually play football with my nephew and try and think of some other good times to wear it because it's the best0 points
