At last. According to greenday.fm, Saviors album and streaming sales figures for April have now surpassed FOAM. https://greenday.fm/charts/album-sales/ It's taken some time I know, but it's no reflection on the album's quality of course. As the fans album ranking still has Saviors at 3rd place behind AI & Dookie. https://greenday.fm/charts/green-day-album-rankings/ It's just a sad reflection on musical tastes as punk has maybe lost it's hold on main stream, idk. Still, their loss. Can't think of many bands that have released such an awesome album, after 30+ years. We're the lucky ones. And the band continues to draw huge crowds at venues during Saviors tour. Still, imho, the bestest live band in the universe ever. From their humble beginnings of playing back street small clubs, to 50k plus stadia, it's always been for the fans. So proud to be a GD fan, so proud of you GD.3 points

Thanks to @Rumpelstiltskin2000 I've finally got the Glasgow and Lyon patches!! I rarely buy merch anymore but these are really nice souvenirs. Between scalpers and fans hoarding them I never thought I'd get them.3 points

I went to a gig at 924 Gilman yesterday, checked out a bunch of green day stuff while I was there, anyway the band playing was a japanese band called Ging Nang Boyz, the band are fans of green day, in fact the members of ging nang boyz used to be in another band Going Steady who have played with green day, during the set the band's singer Mineta was talking about hearing green day while he was in high school and saying how special it was to play gilman because of the green day connection1 point

5 April On this day in 2017, Green Day played the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos on the GDA Tumblr On 5 April 2011, Billie Joe's third and final run as St. Jimmy on Broadway began. On 5 April 1998, Green Day played the Andrews Amphitheater in Honolulu, Hawaii on the Nimrod Tour. More photos on the GDA Tumblr 'Armstrong had gotten ahold of bikini panties and a bra. He dropped his pants to reveal … white boxers. For modesty’s sake, he pulled the panties – white tag showing in the back – up over his boxers, before doing a bump and grind. This is one guy who should always wear as much clothes as possible. The show had to be over when Tré Cool came crashing over his drum kit. Having been hidden behind drums for the set, the green-haired drummer was going to have his time in the spotlight – even if he had to kill a few instruments in the process. He punctuated the proceedings with the crash of a microphone on a cymbal, threw his bass drum, then, lifting his floor tom over his head, he bashed every side on the corner of the stage as if he were husking a coconut.' — George F. Lee, Honolulu Star Bulletin On 5 April 1994, Green Day played the Oz Nightclub in Seattle, WA on the Dookie Tour. More photos on the GDA Tumblr1 point

I think we always need that huge buildup to the opening line. Also, this performance was just triumphant and perfect and I love it Also Billie’s huge tie and ruffled shirt is amazing1 point

Actually annoyed by this. Shitty, cynical marketing nonsense.1 point

I saw heaps of articles too with titles like “fans think they know his Green Day got their name”. Some bot clearly git in a muddle 😂😂1 point

That’s really crazy! How can you be a fan and not know that, after all these years? I like the name, it certainly isn’t „the worst in the world“!🙃1 point

Don't know if relevant, but: "NON TITLE BOUND MLC INCOME GREEN DAY" SESAC: 749097662 Judging by the high sesac number, higher than Saviors, could it be something? 👀1 point

That was fun. I think I'm allowed to say that Green Day played 4-5 songs for the fans in between takes. The filming was cool but those songs were the best bits. Billie threw lots of guitar picks with questions like: 'What's my favourite colour?' 'What number is on my mind right now?' 'What is my dog's name?' 'Who has the most spikes in their hair?' He didn't actually wait for anyone to answer. He just threw them at the first people he saw 😂 He also announced 'oof, my back' twice. Mike kept telling us we were killing it. The first time they played a song just for fun, Tre refused to play more when Billie asked because he didn't want to get sweaty. The barrier was mostly filled with hired actors but some fans got onto it in the centre and I got onto it past Mike, towards the end with some of the lovely ladies I met in the queue. There's such a small gap between the barrier and stage at the Palladium that I felt almost as close as I did when I was technically closer at stadiums. I can't believe I was still jumping at the end considering the jet lagged state I'm in 😂 If I remember more that I can share I will, but I need to sleep now.1 point
